We used to hold socials and parties in Aberdeen a few years ago now.there is alot of planning went into them months in advance. Biggest one was in a function suite in a bar.that was a mad weekend. If you are only holding a small group social then it may be ok.  |

Some socials hire venues and entertainment etc and yes months of planning goes into it. If you just want to arrange for folk to meet in a bar and get to know each other don't see why that can't be done. Although the time of year may still be a pest as lots of folk already have stuff on. Nothing ventured nothing gained though OP x |
