Chicken and chorizo pasta bake. Even I can make it.
Put a large pan of water on to boil. Add some salt.
Slice a chorizo ring into thin slices and place in a frying pan with NO oil. Turn over the chorizo when it’s sizzling. It only needs a couple of minutes each side. When done, scrape the chorizo into a large oven proof dish.
If the water is boiling, add your pasta. (I usually throw in a 500g bag of penne as it’s for me and 3 kids)
Chop the chicken (2 or 3 chicken breasts should be enough) and add some olive oil to the pan you did the chorizo in. When it’s hot add the chicken and fry it off. Now, you can add what you want to the chicken but I add the following
Schwartz Chargrilled Chicken Seasoning
Schwartz Garlic Italian Seasoning
Smoked Paprika
Just shake a bit over the chicken and then turn the chicken over and shake a bit more on. Cook the chicken for a few minutes.
STIR THE PASTA so it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
When the chicken is cooked, add to the chorizo in the dish.
When the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander. Then put it back in the pan and fill with cold water. Then drain it again and add to the dish (the cold water removes excess starch and stops it sticking)
Mix together with a wooden spoon and add a jar of smooth Dolmio sauce. (See, told you it was easy). Stir it all together. Then flatten it out and sprinkle grated mozzarella over it and permesan to taste. I also sprinkle Oregano over the top too.
Bung in the oven and cook until golden brown.
Hey presto.

Press it. The longer it cooks the firmer it gets. If you want it well done, press your forehead with your index finger and cook the steak TIL it feels the same. If it’s medium you want, press the bit of your hand at the bottom of your thumb and cook the steak TIL it’s like that. |

Take steak out of fridge and allow to come to room temperature
Heat pan to max
Rub oil onto steak and then salt and pepper
Place in pan.
Leave for 3 minutes
Turn it over.
Cook for a further 3 minutes.
Turn off heat and allow to sit for a minute before removing from pan.
For a quick sauce, turn heat on again, add a splash of whisky and a spoon of wholegrain mustard. Turn off heat and stir in double cream. Instant whisky mustard sauce.

I think as soon as you mentioned "heat", there was going to be a problem.
Mind you, this could be a ploy to get Mr D so sick of burnt offerings, that he begs for a salad, and turns veggie. |

Fry 3 chopped onions in olive oil till almost brown then add a pack of chopped mushrooms. Add Italian herbs. Then add quorn mince and some soy sauce, fry it for a bit then add a large jar of dolmio tomato sauce and some Worcester sauce. simmer for around 40 minutes. Why not just get some fresh noodles, add chopped veg and spring pinion to taste, some garlic and ginger, some soy sauce and stir fry it all together?
Or, cook pasta, drizzle with garlic olive oil, add what you fancy to it, fry some chopped bacon and stir through. |
