At what point when someone is spreading malicious lies and sending threatening messages do you involve the police? Or do I just leave the site because some sad wee person has nothing better to do than bully & harass a complete stranger?! This site is supposed to be fun and right now it's the polar opposite.

Delete your profile if things are that bad

And if the threat could affect your real life, get the police involved

just report to admin if you see them do it openly.

If people are sad enough to act on someone's comments about you then they are not worth the hassle, if they decide too make their own judgement then that's good on them

If fab becomes very negative for you then take a break and I'm sure you will be back feeling veterans

It's already been reported to admin who dont seem to be bothering to do anything.

I'm only just back from taking a break from fab. I've been on/ off this site a few times over the years but this is a new low and might be the nail in the coffin.

I wouldn’t let anyone dictate how you spend your time here. Report, ignore, then if there is any escalation you aren’t comfortable with get the police.

Been reported. New development is a secondary profile with a status getting folk to contact me. No doubt that profile is also sending out private messages to folk. Sad, pathetic and seriously ridiculous.

You won't be able to control other folks actions, I'm sure you know that.

But you can control how you choose to respond.

By making this so public you're gonna get a whole load of folk contacting you to dredge up the whole sorry tale.

Admin can read pms, so if he has said anything illegal or threatening, they'll know, and hopefully deal with. It's the outside stuff you need to deal with through the police. Keep screen caps of any threats, if you haven't already done so.

So what? If i get further abuse its my own fault because i posted om the forum asking for help/advice?? Thankfully the only people who have message me direct from the forum thread have been lovely and really helpful.

Well if you don't have anything constructive to add, there's zero point in posting if it's not going to help the situation. As it stands it's helped tremendously as those that have messaged me have helped report the profile and it seems action has been taken.

Im really sympathetic to your situation but simply block every negative message and report. Same if it comes through your phone number, report threats to police and block. Whoever doing it will get bored before you get bored pressing 1 little button. Yes they can buy a new phone so for every new number or profile they setup 1 button press from you and its gone.

That's exactly what I normally do but this situation had been made more personal & vindictive. Thankfully I take comfort in knowing what had been said isn't true and some information being incorrect but it's still a horrid situation to be in. Gaaaaah!

Only message ever sent to them was (politely) asking what their problem was when it was first brought to my attention. It's allegedly two female profiles incidentally and when they messaged me, I was blocked straight away so even if I wanted to reply i couldn't. Total cowards.

I thought I was being constructive. I think your post could really have a negative effect in the long run. Delete... report and ignore or just start a new profile I thought would have been obvious. Best of luck to you and hope the police sort it for you x

It's not constructive in the slightest as you're putting the blame on to me for trying to seek advice & take action. Why should a sad wee bully get to hide behind their computer screen and remain anonymous? I've not rose to their bait by replying to them with snash, things have been reported and thanks to highlighting the issue publicly I have had a few people privately message me and those people have helped resolve the situation by reporting what is likely a fake profile and a bully. The genuine folk need to stick together and out those who spoil the sight wiyh nonsense. If the wee toad sees this thread and has an ounce of sense, tbey will realise their actions are ultimately futile.

You have to remember not everyone has a life worth talking about outside fab.

It would surprise you who on here spreads gossip and lies and personal details. Some very regular posters.

As someone said, report to the police but don't let the bully's get to you and force you to leave. No one has the right to impact on anyone's life like that.

Just block and ignore, keep a private note on their profile about them to remind you (but u lose it when they delete).

If it gets serious get the police involved. Some people don't realise that the information of messages etc are kept on the servers and if the police get involved and take action they can get that information, ip addresses etc... some people hide their ip addresses to get away with it but they are all still traceable.

Hopefully people have given you advice that has benefited you so good luck and get back to enjoying fab.

I've had some problems on here. Threatening and stalking by some sad loser who obviously doesn't have a life. When he mentioned my son one time i went to the police. Police can't do anything until he shows up on your doorstep, so not sure how much you'd get out of reporting him to the police. Was in hiding for a long time, but decided to not let this psycho make me hide away and ruin my fun - and I've had a lot of fun on here. Kept blocking him on whatever site he tried to get to me and eventually he lost interest. It was a very scary time though and would totally understand you coming off here. Hope you're ok and get him off your back soon x
