As I’ve aged and watched my kids socialise, took me back to 1981 onwards when I started clubbing Favourtes were Paris/Scandals Silk St and Later The Corton Club Paisley ( not a fan of Toledo Junction probably cause I never pulled in it ) The Shuttle St Pubs and Cinders Partick ,  |

I don’t think it’s bad missing your youth , worry free lives were far more precious than you knew at the time before mortgage bills kids etc |

I don’t think it’s bad missing your youth , worry free lives were far more precious than you knew at the time before mortgage bills kids etc "
It was knowing we could just go, hang out, meet up with some great friends and make plenty of new ones.
There was also a club in Southampton called the Magnum Club. It was a gay club that used to let us in after work at 1030 at night in jeans as long as we kept the manager in free tickets for any show he wanted to see at the theatre lol
Some fantastic nights were had in there too, including plenty of famous faces who actually relaxed and let their hair down as it was such a friendly place.  |

Forgot Clattys, the myth being loads of Gartnavel nurses so getting your Nat King was more likely lol , were you a nurse pmsl  |

Forgot Clattys, the myth being loads of Gartnavel nurses so getting your Nat King was more likely lol , were you a nurse pmsl "

At £5 for a "glass" of lager (mid/late 80's) it was pretty good for emptying your pockets too |

You were probably there when I was. Used to go to Paris most weekends. Toledo Junction is Paisley’s answer to the Savoy complete with sticky carpet. I quite liked TJ and the Cotton Club. Chicken in a basket and garlic bread balls in the early hours at the Cotton Club lol.
Carnegie’s was another favourite haunt. |

Ha Falcon, could’ve written your message about myself , a little diamond around the paisley curfew (if you recall due to violence , no entry anywhere after midnight ) was Lord Lonsdale lounge disco , in the unlikelihood yiu didn’t pull in the Lonsdale, jacket quick half jaked sprint to Cotton club, and I agree , you were quoted if you asked a lady to dance and ask if she wanted food pmsl , breaks my heart driving past it now |

That I really don’t get at all 
I guess I’ve been lucky as I’ve always felt more welcome in a gay club - even as a straight guy.
As for non gay clubs being more inclusive - can’t see it ever happening because of the ‘laddish’ culture. They’re there to pull. Not to make friends and have a dance and a laugh.  |

That's a shame for that person, the whole transgender debate seems to be becoming a very divisive and emotive one at the moment though sadly |

Phew, big question and not a debate that's got a personal interest, merely a current affairs kind of interest.
I suppose the "why" is because as our society (in general) becomes more tolerant/inclusive then the more questions there are asked and need answering, from the simply practical ie, which toilets to use, to the question of at what age can a person decide for themselves who/what they are.
Some people will feel everything is moving too fast on this, without thinking things through and some will feel it's taking too long and society is just "dragging it's heels" boom boom

Used to go there with mates when we were 15....steal the old girl's Opium and get the war paint on to try and look older |

lightweight my lady ,paid on a Thursday Savoy , Friday to Sunday paisley and back to the savoy Monday , single mum heaven was politically incorrect statement as in the old Monday Book |

I know what you mean. The CC used to be the social club for Ciba Geigy. Was in it many times before it was the Cotton Club! |
