"Another new manager . God we are awful "
Sure no one wants the job. Appoint McLeish = expect failure. But not any worse than the so called "fans" who slate their own team relentlessly. Embarrassing when it's your national sport and there's no pride on the pitch or in the stands. |

I think a total reform is needed. Someone with the balls to go in and start using our youth.
They're the future and we're not gonna qualify for anything for the next few years anyway |

McLeish was just another “old boys” appointment in the vein of Andy Roxburgh, Craig Brown, Walter Smith etc. It’s a grass roots issue, we no longer produce truly world class players such as Daglish, McGrain, Cooper, Bremner, Johnstone and co. |

" . This is true. The manager keeps getting the chuck, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter it’s the same pool of players to pick from

A complete transformation is required. Get rid of the old duffers at the SFA/SP whatever, and get football brains running what is a lucrative business.
Fans are treated terribly as well, and we must have one of the worst national stadiums in Europe.
New ideas are required if we hope to save our national game. and tv companies , who make a mint out of the game need to help.

"As the old saying goes, you can only piss with the cock youve got.
Thats true but as you are in control of it you can at least aim it the right way."
So what are we in control of a group of second rate players, second rate leagues, second rate managers, second rate stadium and a second rate governing body, try pissing with that lol. |

I hate to say it but may be it’s time to look for someone like Southgate.
He had the balls to play the youth.
Get rid of the ‘wonderful’ old players that keep getting trotted out and find the youngsters who WANT to play for Scotland and who aren’t there just for the money.
May as well write off the next 2 years and give someone the job of building from the ground up with a new squad. A hungry squad.
Just a thought mind......... |

Andy Robertson said in an interview today that both he and Tierney are being played out of their natural positions - a stroke of genius from McLeish. What do you do when you have two great left backs? Play neither of them at left back.
McLeish has been shit for at least 10 years as a manager. |

Scotland acquit themselves reasonably well up to and including under 21 level, after that they’re utter fucking mince. I gave up supporting the Scottish national football team when Andy Roxburgh was appointed manager as it just proved how shortsighted and parochial the SFA were, are and always will be! |

We always say invest in the youth... where is this investment... a few of our younger player are down south... trying hard to make it to the first team... clubs still trying to buy success by getting in players from overseas... We talk a good game and our Football Association should be ashamed of themselves have did nothing and made no difference for a number of years... the best manager Scotland has had for ages was wee Gordon... but the pool of players to pick from... holy shite... |

Forgive my ignorance - I am English after all - but who the hell is managing the under 21s? And why haven’t they been given the job?? Take the under 21s and try them in first team for a match or two and see what happens can’t be any worse. |

Eh what money
Appearance money for an international is peanuts. Pay peanuts attract squirrels and monkeys
I fully agree with the grass roots thing. Look to the young, start playing more of the Under-21’s or better still field the Ladies team
There are plenty of youth teams around Scotland churning out some decent players however when they reach 18-20 they are already burnt out
