A question for the male half of couples.....What would you think if a single guy came to visit you and your wife and he brought flowers?

I usually take a bunch of flowers when a couple invite me to their home, but the last time the guy laughed at me and asked me if I was trying to be smart.

Bizarre - it won't stop me bringing colour to the homes of pleasant couples.

Xx

I think it nice and properly mannered if the guy brings a gift for his hosts.

the OP does not say how the lady received the flowers but I wonder when the guy had last brought flowers for his partner.

it may be that that OP ruffled the guy's feathers somewhat simply cos the male half hadnt bought his partner flowers for ages.....

To be honest in my opinion (female) I wouldnt want anyone bringing me flowers! I am not dating the person only having sex with them ... but each to their own. x

I think its nice that someone is considerate enough to think of flowers for the lady showing they think with the head on their shoulders as well as the one in their trousers ...all women love flowers i guess its just a nice way to say thank you for letting me share your fantasys

Hmmm we normaly take a gift of some sort but that tends to be a bottle of fizz.

Don't think flowers really hits the mark somehow.

As said it's not a date and would only ever consider flowers if meeting a single fem and even then only if met before.

Flowers are more of a _omantic thing and doesn't seem to me to fit in with swinging!

I can understand the guy feeling a bit peeved as flowers are more girlie. If you take a pressie then at least make sure both can enjoy if you are meeting a couple.

Scotland and beyond

I only take flowers if there are some left by the roadside en route. I leave the football shirts though, never too sure which half of the old firm your meet may support.

i like to take something to peoples houses not just on meet but in general because its just the way i was brought up, if im not totally skint and usually its something small but enjoyable like chocolate chip cookies, or wine if the person likes a drink xx i think its a nice gesture but flowers is probably seen as being a _omantic gesture although if someone does me a favour i tend to send flowers alot

meon the other hand i cant remember the ast time i got flowers

I always bring something for the hosts of an evening wether it be a bouqet, chocs or wine. Think it is only good manners to bring something along with you to any invitiation recieved. Even if i go to my friend's house, i will always bring something along with me.

I would be thrilled if someone came to the door with flowers and they'd get extra special treat too!

Hmm, i'd be worried if a guy brought flowers if he was a 'meet' rather than a friend at least.

I much prefer vino please!

Looks like the visitor is gonna have to bring everything LOL...flowers, vino and chocs just to be on the safe side LOL

Flowers is something we hadnt considered before when going to a meet.Cant see why some would find it strange. Taking flowers doesnt mean a guy is making some kinda move on the female host/guest

Nice touch. Well done

Bizarre ! Yes I agree.

Anyone who laughs and makes glib remarks at a polite gesture has definite insecurity problems.

Always remember its nice to be nice and good manners cost you nothing.

Don't know if I would go for flowers though, more likely to go for a nice bottle of pinot grigio and a box of maltesers.

Playing find the malteser can be a good ice-breaker!!!!!! Although that's always a matter of taste!

Good question! On first reading this I thought I would love flowers, however on a meet with a single guy....well it did get me thinking.

We have never met with a single guy...and as others said, flowers is quite personal maybe a first date type of thing. I am not sure a gift is appropriate, maybe it would depend how the meet was arranged...hang on will ask mr scots haha

Ok so he said he would not like it, and that's the edited version!!! Haha so for op...you want to impress the girl, bring flowers...but keep the bloke sweet, bring yourself, as arranged

Hth xxx
