I was in turkey during the first part of the world cup, (group stages) and although the commenting was in Turkish, which I don't understand they were by far more enthusiastic when commentating on each game. So I don't know if there was any favouritism coming throguh on a game.
When I came back home and watched and listed to the games, guys like Gary Neville, n Alan Shearer and others always during chat made comments that tried to display the team better than they were. They did well and merited the semi final place, that's for sure
I suppose its a hard thing to do even at the top not being biased but one man I think is perfect was Bill McLaren, he told it the way he saw it even against Scotland, he was the perfect commentator. I also liked Jurgen Klingman, being diplomatic but very honest
Is there any commentators you think were ideal and didn't show favouritism |

I think different people are good at specific roles.
Gary Lineker and Jeff Stelling are good but they are presenters, not commentators or pundits.
I like a pundit who offers real knowledge and insight. Two favourite would be Rio Ferdinand and Paula Radcliffe.
Both very humble and honest in their opinions. Also use their personal experiences to put a perspective on things that you might not always get. |

He is good on BT sport too. Love listening to the old stories from his playing days. |
