Getting the snip

If you don't want to be dealing with teenagers in your 60s and beyond, then yes, it's a good idea.
Minor discomfort for a couple of minutes (hard to describe really, but not painful), some bruising and tenderness for a few days, then it's all good.
Don't believe the horror stories friends tell you, it isn't nearly as bad as you think it will be, I was quite surprised. |

I had it done at the very early age of 33. Long story short, I'd done my bit to procreate the planet and it was less risky than my wife having major plumbing works.
Don't regret it at all |

When I had both my kids there was complications, during birth both were born not breathing, it was the worst moments of my life and my ex and due to these complications after my second child was born I decided I was going to get the snip as I didn't want to go through that again.
People have different reasons for getting the snip but one thing is that my doctor talked it through with me to make sure it's what I wanted and she realised it was.
I have two beautiful, fantastic children that complete my life and I'm content in the knowledge that I had the snip at the right time.
Anyone considering the snip always look to the pros and cons and the real reason why you want to go ahead with it. Once you know all that then you'll come to the right decision

You have to get counselling first which really involves making sure your done having kids.
After two kids I went to get sterilised, found out I was 3 weeks pregnant hence we have two boys and a girl.
Ex had the snip 17 years ago. Roll on several years, he has a new partner, had the snip reversed and at 52 he has a two year old.
Good luck OP. If it’s any consolation I’ve played with guys who have had the snip and it makes no difference to performance. I still play safe though. |

Goes with out saying that safe sex still stands if your not in a long term relationship. So not "advantage" there if that was the thinking.
For me it wasn't just that I'd two great kids was was "done". My ex had been on various pills for years and started to have side effects. So the snip seemed the answer. And it was. |

That very much depends who you see. I went to my doctor to discuss the pros and cons and was basically told “do you want me to book you in or not?” This to someone who had never had any kids and was “pretty sure” I didn’t want.
I was persuaded for the wrong reasons by a poly partner who had had her kids and didn’t want more.
It is permanent (don’t count on reversal as a safety net) and even if you think you’re 100% sure you want it, there may be feelings of loss afterwards.
I still have pain a year on. Unfortunately the scare stories are often real. I’m proud of the way my body, and my bits, look and the mess of scarring made shows that my surgeon would never have made it as a plastic surgeon.
The up side, is the peace of mind with any serious partners I may have where we decide to be fluid bonded. |

Likewise... no more nippers for me. No issues with the procedure. Was back at work after 3 days off. Just felt like a kick in the plums for a bit.
That being said I still like to glove up with a new chick. Don’t do dodgy. |

Had it done 20 years ago and it was easy, quick and apart from a little discomfort, painless. I still have a little scar (x) on either side after all this time.

Quick conversation with GP was all it took. Apart from a bit of waiting around on the day to be taken, the actual procedure took 20 mins to do in a very relaxed friendly manner...they do this daily and have probably seen it all!! Was discharged about an hour later. A bit of minor discomfort for a couple of days and a fair bit of painless bruising but still managed a wank the following day! Had to produce a sample to make sure op was successful a few weeks later and other than that, nothing to it. |

Had mine 26 years ago
Went private so no having to go through counselling etc
Op was done under a local anaesthetic and was back to work the next day
Only prob came to light a few years later when scar tissue started to form and from time to time I get a bit of pain |

Both my kids were due on the same day so its pretty safe of me to assume my wee swimmers only work one day a year. I just avoid even looking at women that day. It's saved me going for the snip and all its associated risks like drop in hormones and the removal of your sense of humour. Going by the way this thread has went I'm guessing that must be a side effect also |

I had the snip 8 years ago after having my daughter. It was a trap to try and get me to marry the loon I had been living with for 4 years. I vowed never to be caught out again. I love my daughter to bits and see her as often I can, have no regrets.
Her fragile mother got engaged after meeting some guy seven weeks earlier. Managed to destroy a marriage inbetween just to add to the mayhem.
Anyway the snip, I started getting a pain in my left testicle. A scan showed a small 6mm cyst which is still there. Doc said that cysts develop in 80% of vasectomy procedures. Only bothers me now and again.
There is also a slightly higher risk of cancer. |

Had our kids then decided we both thought it be best as wife didn't want to stay on the pill
Best decision and after slight discomfort for a day all good.

Had it done years ago - was anxious about it right up until the procedure.
Was a slight discomfort and a couple days nursing an ache but after that no problem.
Once you have produced a couple of "zero worms" samples then that's you!
I have actually found that I have become hornier since the snip - has anyone else experienced this?
Also, I find I cum a lot havier than I used to - weird - but great!!! |
