.......not Messi (had his picture taken with an actual Goat.......sad attention seeker.
Not Ronaldo ( growing a goatee in tourney.......acting the Goat).
For me it is Diego Maradona......The greatest, maddest, baddest, hand of god, marching powder enthusiant, nutcase of a man....But a football genius and a truly gifted player.

Maradona without a doubt. Won the World Cup single handedly with an average team. Took unfashionable Naploi from nowhere to win their fiest Serie A title. And let's not forget played in an era when the tackle from behind was still allowed and he got kicked left right and centre. Also the pitches then were nothing like the perfect pitches they play on today. Ronaldo and Messi would simply not have counted in those days.
People will say Pele, yes, amazing but played in amazing teams. |
