Hi,

I’m looking for some advice! Looking for ideas of good hotels to stay in central to the city centre. I’m going to be working in Glasgow a fair bit over the summer.

I’ll be looking for fun and don’t want to get stuck in a hotel where you need key card entry like the Premier Inn’s haha

Thanks xxx

My top tip would be the Double Tree Hilton. Really great place, nice big comfy bar, you can get a great room for around £125 on late rooms usually. Handy for the motorway, just off Suachiehall Street.

And you get a warm cookie when you check in!!

Travelodge are really good value for money. CityCentre and any choice of food place literally 2 mins from hotel..... also you can order food delivered..... top of paisley road West. Google it.

Crowne plaza is quite a bit outside the centre but yes it is a decent hotel.

We stayed in the arto recently and it was reasonable and about as central as you can get. We had some fun and the guy had no trouble getting up to our room without being challenged.

The only downfall is that the restaurant is seperate (next door) and its indian cuisine.

We also stayed in the alexander Thomson on new years eve last year and while we didn't have any fun we weren't even blinked at as we went in and out. This place doesn't have an actual restaurant though.

We were too rough the next day to sample breakfast on both ocassions lol

Citizen m is good, but the room may get cramped if you’re there a while. I’ve stayed in indigo for work before and highly recommend it.

Hi guys, any experience with citizenM or Village hotels in Glasgow?

Any problems with guest or other restrictions?

The walk-in showers and beds are looking good

The Citizen M is quite funky. The beds and walk in showers are indeed great!

South Ayrshire

If you bring any guests into your room at CitizenM then you are out. No extra people, only two per room max.

Citizen M.....great big beds but small rooms. Fraser suits in merchant city or the village but it’s kinda outside town. X

The Ibis and Novotel have a good location just off pitt street nr Sauchiehall street and reasonably priced and if your looking to meet, quite easy to have your company come to your room

I wouldn't advise an Airbnb unless you are renting the whole place.

"Alexander thomson is a good hotel x"

Although it’s a little dated (refurb was ongoing last time I was there, so may have changed) it’s cheap, central and even has smoking rooms.
