So a week to go till the world cup kicks off and yet again us Scots are left out the party. I'll still be watching at least 90% of the games mind you with my money going on France and I'll also look out for Japan as I'm some part Japanese. I canny wait
Anybody else getting the fever yet ? |

"We weren't left out of the party or not invited. We were invited. We just weren't good enough to get there.
That's Gordon Strachan's fault. "
You're right! It is Gordon Strachans fault that we didn't get invited to the world cup finals |

Still going to watch the matches. Unlike many we don't have the "anyone but England" mentality. However T is as much Italian as Scottish and just as gutted that Italy didn't qualify! |

"I will be cheering for England although dont hold out much hope.x"
Im not anti English but i can see them getting pumped this year. There recent results last couple of years has been woeful. Get yer money on them getting put out straight after the group stage or at the group stage. |

I enjoy seeing Scottish people foam at the mouth around the hyperbole of England's participation, passionately hope England lose to anyone they play, celebrate when they get knocked out... and all the while claiming to 'support' Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool/Spurs, etc.
Clowns. |

As an English couple we'll be hoping England get through the group then I think we'll be on our way home.
Personally not really looking forward to the world cup but maybe the enthusiasm will get going when the tournament starts. |

Nope its one of the most over rated sport there is. I'd rather do anything BUT watch 22 overpaid prima donna's who fall over as if they have been shot by a sniper when somebody brushes against them. |

Well I imagine if Scotland had gotten England's qualifying group they would also have qualified as it was farcical. People are entitled to support whoever they want you clown. Why with your loyalty to all the other home nations did you leave out Republic of Ireland??? Because that makes you a prick! |

There’s 11 guys on the pitch that need to want to win not just kick a ball about for 90 minutes! They don’t seem to want to win. It should be a huge honour to play for your country and those picked should play with passion and a hunger to win. |

Our footballers don’t have the passion and hunger our rugby team has, too much wee guy syndrome indoctrinated from Strachan |

Otherwise I agree with your point, support whoever you like and just enjoy the tournament for the spectacle it will be |

Don't be ridiculous, of course they want to win. But the team as a whole is hamstrung if the manager isn't picking the best and most effective players for the qualifying matches. Which is what happened this campaign. |

The poster referred to the British Isles, which includes Ireland.
I therefore asked why he referred to the other home nations and yet left Ireland out, as it was included in his "it is the British Isles after all" statement. |

Are we really going to let this go?"
lol I've just realised, not being Scottish I'd forgotten their group and gotten it mixed up with the last Euros group. Was a terribe group and even at that Scotland did their usual after a terrible start and getting back into it gifted England a point at Hampden.
Inferiority complex. |

England all the way. Only problem is it's difficult to find pubs to watch the matches in without the ABE mentality.
There are times being English in Scotland can be miserable. World's cups and independence referendum really brings out the numpties. Thankfully it is a great fbook and Fab filter x |

ABE? Try a few sports bars, Drop in Glasgow is decent, normally watch the England World Cup or Euro games there in the past without any issues

It’s a bit pathetic that this anti English attitude still exists here. My Dad’s family were from Cumbria going back a couple of generations and my Grandmother’s side were Franco-Scottish. My Mum’s side were Northern Irish.
I don’t normally support England but I’m not being against them all the time either. |
