I’m travelling around Scotland and Ireland in July, what places do you recommend for the most scenic in Scotland. Thought I’d ask people that actually live there. Thanks in advance. |

There's so many beautiful places in Scotland to visit. If you're camping I would suggest Rannoch Moor, Loch Laggan, Loch lyon, Ben Lawers. I've just returned from five days at Loch Laggan and had an amazing time. |

"Oban great wee town, lovely beach and awesome seafood on the harbour
John "
What he said!
One of my favourite places in Scotland
You also have the tiny handmade ice cream shop.
And you can take a boat to go see the porpoises up close, the red deers, etc...
Enjoy OP |

Depends where you are based and what are your interest.
Are you staying, travelling to specific areas. once you know this then its easy to find out whats best for you from what interest you i.e. castle, scenery, historical, adventure.
for example, you staying in Edinburgh for two nights then up to inverness or fort William so you could work out places to go and see during your stay in those areas. personally if I knew this then I could be more specific of good ideas for you
Whatever you do I hope you have an absolute fantastic time touring Scotland |

Glasgow (for now) |
Fort William to Ardnamurchan, you can loop out through Tobermory then back over the hills to Mallaig. Side trip to Castle Tioram.
Back through Glenfinnan, stop at the Dining car for rolls n sausage.
Or head to Skye via the plate ferry at Glen Elg. You take a left at Shiel Bridge and as you climb up the hill the 5 Sisters ridge is on your right.

Anywhere up the A82 - Isle of Skye/Kyle of Lochalsh; Oban, Fort William, Glen Coe, Glen Etive, Loch Lomond, Luss, Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Borders. It’s all pretty amazing for scenery. |

Edinburgh, Glen Coe, Arisaig (boat trip to Rhum and back), Mallaig, ferry to Skye, Troternish area, Plockton then back to central belt. From there across to East Lothian for beaches and castles then down to Borders.
Would recommend Gairloch and Lochinver areas but way too busy since NC500 publicised it. |

Glasgow/London |
There's so much, so depends what you like. A82 is a scenic route, from Glasgow to fort William it gets better and better. Loch Lomond is stunning. Loch katrine great for bike ride.
Conic Hill at sunset.
Glen etive.
Glenfinnan viaduct, looking over loch shiel.
Even get the Jacobite train from fort William to mallaig...
List goes on...

Up north is the place to go
Glencoe
Skye (fairy pools are a must)
Ullapool
The road to Achiltibuie (nothing much there but road and scenery are fantastic.
North 500 route is bonny too.
Also for a chance to meet up with other folk that are bad at guitar try the knoydart peninsula which is home to the most remote pub in mainland UK no direct road there only a ferry or helicopter or a day and a half walk.

I would say see as much of Scotland as you can it’s the best place in the world. Yes we have our faults but as a county it’s an amazing place. We welcome anyone in the world and after a few drams you can be our new best friend |
