What does the term mean foryou?
Is it regretting things you wish you had done when you had the chance? Or simply regretting wrong things you said/did?
For me the most painful regrets come into the former category.

Apart from growing old on here? lol Think it would be the latter as think it was the cause of last break up, asking someone to make a choice and getting a completely unexpected response. |

For me it's the same, I regret not doing something that I should have done and it was very painful after the fact but I'm a stronger person for it now. Everything happens for a reason no matter how painful it is at the time and we learn by those things x |

I always try to think before acting |

"I don’t really regret anything... I look at it that all my actions have brought me to where I am today n that’s a pretty good place
K x"
I am with you there Karen.
I see it as learning and growing from it. And being able to rectify a situation and/or not take the same decision should the same/similar situation arises.
Hope this makes sense

Most of the things I regret are smallish things that I've done/said When pished, the morning after . Most folk I know regret things like Not giving someone a 2nd or 3rd chance.... after they have passed away. I'm not 1 of those tho as if that person was still alive, they still wouldn't be given another chance so no point regretting it once they've passed away |

Both.
The ones in the former category are the ones you ponder as you watch the sun set, or look at the night sky. You can rationalise them fairly easily.
The ones in the latter category are the ones that pop into your head as you try to drift off to sleep or have a shower, and make you not want to leave the house. |

Always think what you say rather than say what you think and you will have no regrets you may have missed opportunities but then again if it was meant to happen it will come round again live is an evolution my friends and not a revolution x |

I always regret a big decision I made back in my younger days. I had my doubts at the time but not the moral fortitude. As a result I suffered for years.
But I eventually managed to get free and move on but the scars and memories still hurt. |

"Nope no regrets, whats happened in the past shapes you going forward.
In my eyes everything happens for a reason and you make choices and decisions based on what you think is right at the time x"
Pretty much this, I have no regrets in life... I do however try to never make the same mistake twice or learn from experience |

When I lost my lovely mum one of my deepest regrets was not spending more time just sitting with her as her world became smaller when she was no longer able to leave her home |

"When I lost my lovely mum one of my deepest regrets was not spending more time just sitting with her as her world became smaller when she was no longer able to leave her home" Tracey Im sure you were there with her as much as it were possible for you to be there.
Try not to dwell on it too much and try to focus on the happy times you did spend time with her,Im sure they far outweigh the times you didnt (((big hugs))) |

I’ve got a few regrets, that basically have changed the path of my life over the last 12 years or so.
I’m trying to do something about them now, but it’s not easy, and it’s going to cause a shitload of hurt for a few people, me included. Urgh. |

Only regret I have is not making more of the time I had with my Dad. Taken away suddenly 12 years ago.
I don’t regret anything else in my life. I can live with my decisions and know that I’ve been true to myself. I no longer dance to anyone else’s tune! People don’t always like it but if I wasn’t true to myself then I’d regret letting other people influence me negatively.
Life’s too short so I make the most of it. |

Think everyone has regrets but is how we handle them that matters. If you let them take over your life then they become your life, as has been said can't live in the past even if some try too! |
