We've just returned from our holiday in the Scottish wilderness and wanted to update you all with the news about the Dundee Social on Saturday 12th of May:
99 people attended the social
4 people got all the interesting facts and won their entry fee back
Raffle donations were very generous, £363 was raised by raffle ticket sales
The prostate massager and unicorn raffle prizes were re-gifted to very happy recipients
The star prize raffle of entry to CJ's went to a sparkling couple
The panetone cake found a loving home
We found out on the night the dj was fab
Everyone enjoyed a piece of (cock) cake
Special thanks to the sexy ladies who sold the raffle tickets and cut the cake
Hand of the Queen is hands down the sexiest security man on fab
Above all we were overwhelmed by the attendance and thank you for supporting a great night. Your messages of appreciation and hearing you all enjoyed yourselves just feels amazing.
After we've done all our sums we've calculated £460 was raised for the Marie Curie Nurses.
Well done everyone!
Ok now we're thinking about the next one...
Anyone interested in a Halloween Social???
The proposed date is Saturday 27th October.

We're so happy everyone supported such a good cause. An awesome amount was raised. We should all be very proud.
A good night had by all and a great donation made to charity.

What a great amount raised and well done to you both for organising such a great even we were glad we plucked up the courage to come to our first social and please can we come to the Halloween social? It’s jacks birthday in the 26th October and it would be great to have fun that weekend?? |

Sadly for me the night was soured by the arrival of a £60 parking ticket from the hotel car park. I don’t recall any advice about having to give hotel registration number ! Did anyone else receive one ?  |

Unfortunately the hotel changed their parking in between us booking the venue and arriving for the event. We didn't know anything about it until we arrived.
There used to be a barrier and a big sign saying parking was for hotel users only!
In their defence, there are signs up in the car park telling everyone about the new parking policy.
Maybe we could do a whip-round at the next one to cover the cost of your fine? |

To be honest not knowing the area I was happy just to arrive at the venue after the one way system had me round in circles. I didn’t notice any signs asking to give reception details. And as the venue was at the bottom at the back I wasn’t near reception ! |

Just a final update to say a massive thank you to everyone that attended the social in Dundee on 12th May and bought raffle tickets.
Here is what the Marie Curie had to say after our donation:
"I'm so grateful that you care as much about people living with a terminal illness as I do.
Your decision to give a gift of £457.00 in memory of a loved one will help keep our nurses in the homes of people who are dying.
Your support matters
Given the choice, most people would rather die at home. With a Marie Curie Nurse by their side, people with a terminal illness will be able to share precious time with their loved ones in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of their own home.
This simply wouldn't be possible without supporters like you.
Thank you."
If anyone would like a copy of the donation email don't hesitate to message us.
So who's ready for the next one? We're aiming for over £500 next time!
