Just noticed that the "Personals" section of Craigslist has disappeared. They removed it from US Craigslist in March due to new sex trafficking laws. It looks like they extended it over here too.
Before we found out about Fab, Craigslist is what we used when we first started taking inviting others more seriously. Needless to say, we found it completely useless and full of fakes and weirdos.
I'm sure there have been some success stories. But also some horror stories to match. I would check it periodically to see what bizarre requests were up. However, I think it's for the best it's gone.
Did you ever use Craigslist personals for meets? What do you think about it being gone?
I wonder if there will be an influx of the crazies on here now that it's gone. They will likely look for somewhere else to post meets...

There is still the "missed connections" section under "community". I wouldn't be surprised if the people posting ads start posting in there. But doing so will likely get that section removed too.
To be honest, I don't think there's anything quite like the personal section of Craigslist. For a few months, someone posted 3 or 4 messages a day about a relationship that broke down, with messages like "ill meet you at the bench that was always too cold. If you're not there by 10,ill know you've moved on". Quite sad really. |
