I saw an article on the BBC news site about that. It was very interesting, and takes the subject seriously. It clearly has a devastating effect on peoples' lives. |

Very much so. It must be an awful addiction to live with and overtakes peoples lives like any other addiction |

Been listening in the car, it is 100% a real addiction, I know this first hand and it is not necessarily only ‘sex’ that is the addiction like they said, porn etc have massive effects also. |

Why are we surprised - the brain is set up to reward stimuli with doses of chemicals as strong as a lot of illicit drugs - for some people it requires more and more stimulation to get the same hit as the brain gets habituated - that's addiction. I really think it has got little to do with self control, people being weak willed or whatever - its a physiological mechanism.

I don’t get why people are forking out that sort of cash nowadays. There's so much free porn, sites out there to while away the time without leaving you potless.

I think the guy in question had perhaps got particularly attached to certain women on webcam sites and therefore was paying for it. |

I’ll be honest and say I sometimes get twitchy and compulsive about sex. I think it is closely related to anxiety though and a sexual outlet is the best release valve for that.
Not in the aggressive way but just needing some sort of way of relieving that tension. |

Still don't get it, no meeting up, nor relationship of any kind. Be cheaper going to a strip club.
