Having said that, I'm off to Ladbrokes to put a fiver on Mohammed.

It’s a sad and pathetic world we live in when people can’t be happy for a couple celebrating the birth of their child and the money the royal family bring in tourism revenue to millions of shops and sole traders and the local economy in general had outweighs any public purse spending. But I bet there’s is breathing f a sigh of relief that the new have so quickly forgot about the Syria scandal

Because some people were saying who cares, doesnt quite justify stating that they are sad and pathetic, strong words. Some people like the Royal Family and have time for them , others dont. As for saying they bring in more to the public purse than they take out, that is just pure speculation. They took out 43 million pounds last year, that is fact. What they bring in is anyones guess. My guess is that they dont bring this much back in from tourism, but I suppose this depends if you are pro Royal or not.

Always nice to hear about a wee baby, I agree with you there...but it's the constant, never feckin ending keech that is spouted by the TV commentators that makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a fork. They repeat the same shite for days on end when there is no real news. She had the baby, they're both well, enough said.

I'm sure if they (the media)looked hard enough there would be lots of heart warming tales about normal folk all over the UK to give us a break from the doom and gloom.

Firstly this was about babies - on that note delighted baby and mum both well

In regard to the royals - I am no royalist and yes they are very rich and privileged. However as someone else said they work from day one and the Queen still does, age 92. Her family have embarrassed the country on a number of occasions however SHE has never done so. Would I like her life with all its riches but have her responsibility and duty - no bloomin thanks. I think that the royal family is an outdated notion that is very likely to end in it's current form relatively soon but whilst they get paid a lot they also bring in a lot of revenue in terms of good will and tourism. As always there are two ways to look at most things and I do have a respect for Liz

Don't need an excuse to go parading. It's done most weekends from February to November, not just 1 day a year.

Like the royals or not, the queen has the hardest job in the world, no way in hell would I swap lives to take on the responsibility of her roll in this country. Thankless task.

The bitterness that a young life being brought into the world brings out is unbelievable.

It's the children grandchildren staff castles palaces that the public need to pay for that I have the problem with.

Keep Buckingham palace lose the rest .how many homeless units or woman's aid refuges could they all fill?.

Yes the queen brings in tourists...so does nessie..we don't need to keep paying for nessie.

we dont pay for the royal familys staff they also only get paid for royal engagements the royal family handed alot of residences back . I agree with fringe royals being removed but thats the govt wont change the system.
