Isn't it amazing that when you are chatting and looking to set up a meet and you suggest a phone call to prove that each other are genuine that certain peeps run for the hills lols. Funny enough it seems to be with so called couple profiles that we are finding most of the fakes just now

I also never give out my phone number, & especially to people I've never met before. It certainly doesn't mean I'm not 'genuine'. I will agree though that I'm sure there are many profiles that aren't as they suggest.

I don't use the phone or skype and it has never been an issue.

It only proves that the person is not a robot, doesn't mean they are genuine.

My opinion anyway

I would never meet anyone I haven't spoken to on the phone or on cam.

You can tell a lot more about a person talking that u can reading their words. U put ur spin on what u read.

I REMEMBER yrs ago talking to a guy on pof who I thought was very dry and witty with a twisted sense of humour. 3 mins into a call I realised he was thick as shit. Close call

Agree with this, you can tell more about someone by chatting on the phone.I prefer a quick phone call if possible. Some meets I have done and others not, I would never demand it, each to their own, and I understand fully why some ladies would rather not. Thankfully it hasn't made a difference, as everyone I have met has been lovely and genuine.

Not giving your number is a backwards mentality nowadays.

Every single mobile phone has the ability to block numbers.

It's as easy to block someone's number on your phone as it is block them on here.

There are other things people can do with your number, as I t has the potential to identify you in other ways. It’s also easy for people to keep your number and contact you elsewhere. Nothing backwards about it in an increasingly tech-savvy world.

There are other ways to prove you’re genuine without giving out those eleven digits.

I agree with this, if you give out your mobile number and you use Facebook or Snapchat you will then show up on on each others "people you may know" With the amount of people on here who are nice then nasty id much rather avoid compromising myself therefore wouldn't give my number to anyone.

There’s more than just facebook. But even if there wasn’t, whether I have a phone that can block numbers or not, there’s simply no reason to hand out my number to anyone I don’t know.

Good for you, you stay safe. And remember your green cross code, whilst you're at it.

Happened to me recently, guy gave me his number then appeared on my facebook "people you may know", told him so he could sort his settings and stop it happening again. He went mental as if I had purposefully stalked him. Couldn't possibly have been his own damn fault...

I know we aren’t supposed to mention it however I use kik.... you can take real time pics and video call. Whilst not having to give out any numbers or personal info. I really like it.
