Social in Edinburgh soon?

Was wondering if there were any plans for a social in Edinburgh in the near future? I haven't been meeting for a while now and trying to ease my way back in gently by meeting like minded people locally. I was thinking a social would be the ideal place to do that?

We would be up for a edin Social but are having a break from planning them lollll too stressful and hard to please everyone we would rather be guests for the time being. If no one else wants to arrange one could we just not all meet in a place one evening??? Then you have yourself a social  x |

most think socials are these big things where halls are hired entertainment booked food booked when in actual fact they are exactly what you describe.
If you want it just someone do it release the place 24 hrs before ( fems or cpls have more luck than single males in doing this) good luck |

Can't commit to organising anything at the mo as I have too much on my plate.
Why not organise your own social??
It doesn't have to be fancy.
Find a pub big enough to accommodate. Put a date and time on forum. Gauge numbers. Near the time, check who is still up for it. On the day or the evening before send messages to give details and how people can recognise you.
Forum search for other socials to get an idea. You've been on here over a year so you probs seen them about.

If no one wants to organise it just someone grab the bull by the horn and say on this date at this time at this location we will be there . Who else wants to come , then as people say i will attend, more will follow. Who cares if you get tge saddo that turns up and spies because you gave the location to afraid to come join your wee social . |

This. I organised a few Friday afternoons a couple of years back. Plenty big enough bars in Edinburgh. Don’t take it personally when fewer than half who committed turn up. It’s FAB after all. Good luck.

Right managed to secure city centre venue. We are asking for £5 deposit per person to secure your space, which you will get back as a drink. If people who pay do not attend the money will go to Macmillan Cancer Research.
You do need to be in venue before 11pm or you will have to pay £6 at door for entry.
