"I find the ASMR videos on YouTube very creepy to be honest.
Wtf did I just watch?
Creepy sums it up! "
So to save us all the distress of watching it....wtf is he on about? |

It’s worth noting, people respond to different things. I experience ASMR when somebody is closely scrutinising something I have written. I used to love letting somebody look through school projects or my dissertation at uni.
.
There’s an ASMR video I occasionally put on to help me get to sleep, which features somebody going through a newspaper, highlighting articles, cutting out clippings. The sounds and actions are incredibly soothing. It doesn’t have the full effect on me, because it’s not a newspaper I produced, but it gets close.
.
The ASMR videos of, for example, whispering women eating snacks do nothing for me. So, if you’ve only watched one video and think it’s creepy, please realise you’ve only seen a fraction of the different types of content. The videos of fountain pens on paper can be incredibly relaxing. |

I have no idea!
Hate it when people use abbreviations and assume everyone knows
Here's what Google says:
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a term used for an experience characterised by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine.
Bet yer still confused lol
Read it, watch it and I still am confused |

To explain: have you ever experienced that very pleasant sensation when you get a tingle over the back of your head, neck and shoulders, in response to watching or listening to something or someone? And you know that if you move or speak you’ll break it, so you just sit and let it last as long as possible? That’s ASMR.
.
There are hundreds (probably thousands) of videos on YouTube, designed to reproduce the sensation. And, because people experience it from a wide range of stimuli, there’s a very wide range of videos available. |

I know. Visions of some old guy sat behind you on the bus heavy breathing in your ear, whispering.
I could imagine if the right person was doing it though it may be erotic. |

Even worse, if he was sitting behind you in a taxi doing it. Especially when he's supposed to be driving! |

Tried watching an same video before and I just found it just made me cringe and feel awkward!
I can see why it might make some people tingle and feel relaxed but it’s not for me |
