I cant believe anyone would stand you up
This is what really annoys me on here, and probably all the other genuine people. Fake profiles and no shows.
Lets be 100% honest here though it is his loss ! I would happily try and prove to you there is also still nice guys on here.

Always have a back up that's my plan .
It's not his loss he's either bottled it or a timewaster it's your loss of your valuable time sadly . |

Just not nice!
You get your timetable sorted, you get ready, you travel etc... it is just not acceptable! A wee text to say something came up or I change my mind costs nothing!
Hopefully you have managed to use the time doing something nice.
Obviously not someone you want the company of. |

Ok im bloody raging. My time is too precious to be wasted and i have spent 2hrs of today travelling which cost me money i dont have. Im well pissed off if im honest and feel like crap. It puts me off meeting new folk and leaves me not trusting anyone. Think i will just concerntrate on the guys who i already know and the nights at the clubs which i enjoy from now on. |

I don't think females have it easy on here.
Nor would I make a thread moaning about being stood up.
It happens. Quite right to be annoyed about it, but as naming and shaming is banned, all you are doing by creating a thread is magnifying and elongating your disasspointment.
Dust yourself down and move on.

Sorry but I disagree
The OP can basically start a thread on anything she wants.
Most males assume that single fems are the holy grail on here and have the best deal on fab.
She's only highlighting the fact that single fems get stood up too. |

I’ve been there myself getting stood up, can understand from a guys point of view I’m not as safe an option so some of the other women on here for the two main reasons that 1. I don’t have or share pics, 2. I don’t show my verifications
Their loss at the end of the day I say, and men wonder why some
People choose to spend a long time chatting and arranging a coffee first, at least with a social meet you can still enjoy your coffee and maybe even get a cake too but arranging a fun meet and getting stood up well that’s even worse ! |

That is a real downer for genuine guys that try hard , but I fully understand why you would feel that way ! Simply not acceptable just not to show ! Reiterating what some have said above its his loss, but through his selfish antics it also appears it could be some other potential good guys loss too !! That is a real shame !! |

That's pretty crap and really spoils everyone else's experience and like you said make's trusting folks a bit more difficult. I once turned up to a meet with a lovely lady I had been chatting to for a while a little late because my taxi got lost I sent a wee text to explain this and that I was'nt trying to be rude, when I finally got to her place she had arranged a meet with another guy so.I just left actually got in the other guys as he arrived while i was still on the doorstep.
Thankfully think I dodged a bullet with that one! |

And this is why I don't travel for first meets, except to a local pub or they can meet me when I'm at after8 or CJs. Lost count of the amount of no shows and if I'm on my own turf I don't care.
Ugly enough??? You kidding?!? You're one of the most stunning and kind people I've come across on this site and don't let arseholes and time wasters like these get you down (I know.... easier said then done) x |

Its crap to be stood up. Even the most confident person finds it stings. If its any consolation I'm also a single woman on here struggling. Had a couple of good meets so been verified but most of guys that message just want dirty chat and that's not my thing. Meet me in person and find out how dirty I am!!
It truly is his loss. |

That happened to me a few times when i was single. I also travelled once abs he text me the full time i was travelling till 10 mins before my train arrived. Then nothing. Never heard from him again till 10 days later as i refused to block as was dying to hear the excuse! Know 3 years in he still sends me random messages on snap chat trying to chat. Needless to say i never reply! I felt stupud and worthless at the time but know i just laugh at how pathetic the guy is! Hes the stulid worthless one. Chin up dolly hes just a moron |

Being stood up in general is a bit crap. I haven’t been on here long enough to experience it with someone from here.
It’s just so selfish and lacking in empathy from the other person. When I was younger, I was going after this lassie I liked. She’d agree to meet for lunch then, on the day, I’d hear nothing until a late afternoon ‘sorry’ text message. No appreciation for the fact that I’d planned my day around that date, that I’d effectively lost a whole day, between getting ready, and then having to have a late lunch when I’d given up waiting. I was young enough, and stupid enough to let her do that to me more than once.
It would be nice if there was a way for profiles to be flagged as no-show-ers, but I imagine it would be too open to abuse. |

This happened to me a lot to me more recently as well.....only been on here 6/7 months and the first handful of meet were on the whole were great (turned up, were totally sound) but past month or so something just hasn't been the same on here.... |

We all occasionally have to cancel meets when plans go awry but to not inform the other person is not great though going by experience, seems to be fairly common.
Precious few opportunities for fun as it is without them being wasted. |

It’s actually a running joke how many times I’ve been stood up or cancelled on last minute.
You feel like shit - and it makes me hyper wary when arranging to meet new people. So when they go quiet I automatically think “here we go again” ... when actually life might just be busy.
Whats worse is when it happens with verified people - they clearly meet so then you question what’s up with you?
Feel your pain OP |

It happens to couples too think that's the downfalls of fab it has fakes and timewasters. that's why we left last time due to getting let down so much after organising sitters hotels ect it pissed me off lol
But then you stumble across some amazing people and have great meets and make great friends so not always bad that's crap he didn't show but yeh his loss great thing that block button haha |

I’ve had it happen to me. When the kids were younger and I had to get my Mum to watch them, get ready, etc. It’s like a military operation at times. To then end up spending your night all dressed up with nowhere to go!

That is shockingly rude ! A simple sit down, coffee a nice chat with a reasonable explanation of why he thought it would not work is the minimum you would expect after actually making the effort to get there ! Complete and utter pwick of a man in my view !! |

This doesnt exist. There is no foolproof way or knowing 100%, if the person you are arranging to meet is genuine and will deff turn up. You can only go on gut instinct and trust. G |

As for time wasters spoiling it for others, I judge each on their own merit.

Not only being rude, but stupid! There may be last minute problems - but not to let you know? Question is - why is there is no “opposite to verification” - to de-verify - other than to name & shame? Why not just tell all the women who to avoid.
Anyway .. am sure you’ve bounced back and made up for his stupidity!! |

I thought this but what's to stop malicious folk doing this if they had an axe to grind. Judging from the responses in here, Bluebell won't be short of genuine meet ( or meat !)offers for the next 20 yrs. |

Yeah, ‘de-verification’ would be waaay too easily abused. The alternatives are complex and a little intrusive.
As doggy says, bluebell won’t have difficulty getting plenty of meets if she wants. It seems that occasionally being stood up is just an unavoidable part of the whole game. |

I was once in A&E at 1am being admitted in a lot of pain and still manage to send a bulk email to 60 people who I knew depended on me the following day!
Personally, I call it manners but we are all different! |

"Has anyone thought maybe thats exactly wat happened or some other kinda of last min family emergency in which fab wud be the last of your priorities...
Maybe I’m cold-hearted and callous, but even if my mum or my dog died, I think I’d manage to send someone a message to let them know.

"You'd think someone had died the way some drama queens are going on.
Has anyone thought maybe thats exactly wat happened or some other kinda of last min family emergency in which fab wud be the last of your priorities...
Def not nice getting stood up OP and if he done it out of malice then no excuse for it at all but just maybe something serious occured...
I doubt it. The person probably just changed their mind.
"
Yep, I agree. Had 1 or 2 sleepless nights worrying about someone who was meant to be here, but slipped off the radar. But they re-surfaced quickly enough. Once I see they've been online and there's nothing wrong they'll go on the block list x |

I think I'd rather be stood up than what I've dealt with from members the past few weeks
Favourite was "sorry I didn't get in contact about our arranged meet but my mate was in a car accident. My heads been all over the place"
But he sent that after he put up a new verification.

My friend and I recently co-hosted a party and even then people don't turn up and don't notify.
We had people who had to cancel and that's not an issue, as life outside of fab takes precedence.
It's the ones who are always first to put their names down, then don't turn up.
It ruins it for other people who wanted to come to our party, but couldn't as we where restricted with numbers and male female ratios.
It's annoying. Party was still fantastic anyway.

This is a thing for me. My health issues mean I could never guarantee my attendance, whether I had booked or not.
I can be relatively pain free and mobile one day, and in agony and on crutches the next.
The vet has refused to put me out my misery too. |

I think what justcant is meaning is those who pay to attend then dont show or inform the hosts so their places can be offered to someone on the reserve list. |

Thank you. Your words are much appreciated, unlike those of the previous poster. |

I'm sure anyone with an ounce of intelligence and empathy would be completely ok in your situation.
It's the ones who don't bother to inform even after the event if they are well enough to do so, or if they had a change of mind.
If they can be on fab, putting up forum posts, then they should be able to message a party host and say " I won't be attending "

You'd be surprised at the attitudes of SOME people on here to my situation. You'd think they went out of their way to be insulting BECAUSE of it. |
