It just made me think of Bob the Supercomputer from Dimension 404, a little-known telly series.

It's amazing, more so that the scientist came up with the idea in the pub! I didn't think that the hard-core geeks went to the pub!

I did have to check the date that it wasn't 1st April.

It’s a bit Jurassic Park and cryogenics I guess. I don’t really see the point of storing large volumes of data as DNA. The costs of transferring it, freezing and maintaining it must surely outweigh the current way to handle date. Also it would limit access if you had to ask for it to be retrieved. How many times could it be used once frozen?

I can see the point if it’s use is to be as a back up storage system for archives eg important records, things of historical importance, etc but for my photo album I’ll keep them on my phone lol.

There is 2 robots people made both with the ability to think for itself and have its own opinions and can learn...etc, proper a.i stuff and they sat them in a room together and started a conversation, before long they both agreed that killing off the human race is the way forward

It doesn't make it a living thing though - DNA is just a complex organic chemical and there is tons of it floating about as fragments in the environment anyway.
