I used to do it quite a lot when the kids were really small. Get them settled, Mr would come in from work and I'd nip out to the cinema to have a couple of hours to myself. Saw quite a few folk on their own mid week. |

Never actually been on my own. Though I don't see why it would be awkward. See plenty of people go on there own these days. If there was something I really wanted to see id go by myself. |

I’m in the same boat, just never summoned up the courage to go by myself - I must change that, especially as there seems to be plenty of folk who do so themselves."

Don’t the movie characters get in free to the premier ? |

I pretty much only go to the cinema by myself. Like others have said, I don’t give it a second thought. Cinema, theatre, gigs, restaurants, all great on your own. Holidays? Even better.
You see, eat, do what you want, no compromises. |

Knowing my luck, she'd have buck teeth, a gommy eye, and feet two different sizes. And a beard. |

Used to go along myself a lot in the past, always easier to find a single seat in a busy cinema, don’t need to share your food, no arguing over what to watch, you don’t talk anyway in the cinema so don’t see the issue going alone

"What are people’s thoughts on going to the cinema on your own?
Ever done it? Does it feel strange?"
since I lost my wife I do many things on my own, go out for meals, drinks, cinema, just a way of life now, I still miss her today, 4 years since her illness. |

I actually prefer it, like going during the week when it is quiet rather than packed.
My friends are always late for stuff and I hate going into cinema late, so on my own is best for me. |

Got an unlimited card, so go quite often myself if the other half doesn’t fancy a particular movie.
If anyone else in the cinema is judging a girl/guy for sitting on their own, then it says more about them than it does about you.
Although a wee Fab cinema meet does sound like a fun night. |
