The only way you'll get a decent night out is by going to Edinburgh. Luckily for you and your friends City Link run buses right through the night now |

I agree with NMD, I'm not that familiar with Glasgow but a friend took me to Ashton Lane and it was great.

Ashton Lane if you are all pretentious pricks desperately trying to appear cool.

Plenty of decent old school boozers for just having a laugh.

Merchant Square has plenty of nice bars, and local nightclubs nearby as well
Sauchihall street is pub, pub, club, kebab shop, club, pub, club, chippy, pub, club
As your in a large group sauchihall street may be a good choice as if the bouncers dont fancy you, then there are plenty alternatives
BTW Edinburgh is alright, but full of junkies and can be a difficult city centre to navigate around |

Both cities have their own distinct charm with regards to pubs and bars, but having worked in the industry for 17 years Glasgow is much better for clubbing, has more variety of venues (bars, clubs etc) and is slightly easier to get about. |

Pub or club ? ..Edinburgh has amazing pubs or bars just about everywhere in the centre, it's probably better than Glasgow for those type of venues |
