Does anyone else on here get really really down around the time of their own birthday ?

Always seems to get worse around the landmark ones

I think maybe when I was in my 30s life was better in general but then it started going wrong tbh.

I was quite confident in my 20s but at least then I felt I had a lot to look forward to....at this point it starts to feel you look back more....and then realise all the mistakes that have been made.

Yeah I get that as well! I’m generally a positive person 95% of the time but when a birthday comes up I take a wee dip! Never actually worked out why I don’t think it’s an age thing!

I’m the same, normally cheery and positive and I can’t explain why the dip hits. I don’t even drink normally but booked 4 days off and intend to get hammered for the full 4 days.

Not too fussed about my birthday, turns into more of a family event and a nice dinner or day out for the kids.

Hope it's a nicer day than you anticipate OP x

Not down but hated my birthday with a passion up till last year. First birthday in 43 years that I actually enjoyed. Might make it an annual thing x

I love my birthday- I always try and do something just for me

If you hate your birthday is it because you feel you haven’t accomplished enough during he year?

Make a couple of goals for this year and try to achieve them

No it's because it wasn't celebrated when I was younger. I'm as happy as a pig in shite the other 364 x

Yes.

It's because it's the end of your year and you're tired mentally.

Hopefully you'll refresh once it's passed.

That's what I think anyway. Probably a load of shite.
