Whether it’s misused or not, it’s down to the person that wants to meet said “curvy” individual to know exactly who they’re meeting and if it’s the type of person they’re attracted to/want to meet. i.e. ask for recent/clear pictures. |

I would say misused at times ....but it’s everyone to their own perception of the word curvy. I’m 5ft with a chunky bum. I would describe my figure as curvy but others wouldn’t. |

Everyone has their own interpretation of this word.
Same goes for the word 'athletic'.
For me, I am curvy, because I am not an iron-board as we say in France.
By meeting socially first you can decide if you like where the curves are.
And maybe the person's personality will make you forget about curves and dress sizes!!

We all have curves. And the category's on Fab are shite. I could fit into any one of them at any time depending on my mood, time of the month or how many takeaways I've eaten in any given week. Who actually cares anyway - it's all about perception and curves or no curves us girls are just bloody fabulous. Mwah! |

It’s all down to perception!
Sumo wrestlers are athletes but don’t fall into the stereo typical physical perseptions of what we think athletes should look like!
I think they should introduce one for us guys! The dad bod |

Curvy to me generally means your tits hit the wall before your belly and/or your ass is like Beyoncé you could be a size 6 and classed as curvy aka ginger spice/ kelly osborne you could be a size 22 and 6foot tall and classed as skinny !! Also you can feel bones and maybe pinch an inch
BBW is to me bigger bodied women where often belly is as big as boobs and legs are rather on the chunkier side too and often you’re grabbing a few inches before you feel bones if at all
Skinny and bone structure is pretty evident |

"It might just be me but I think curvy is size 12-16 am I wrong so how would u describe curvy men as they dont wear clothes 12-16 fatty tatties maybe?"
So should we swap out ample from the options and insert fatty tatties instead ? |

curvy, is everyone's perception.
We are all different in our views, some widely.
It doesn't matter to me, curvy or not but I will say I class myself as curvy, some say I'm wrong.
Not the first time I have been wrong but hey hoe |

Yeah it's all about personal interpretation. I describe myself as athletic as for a female I am quite muscular and that ain't to everyone's taste. I could also use slim or whatever else but generally people will look at pics and either like or dislike what they See, no matter your description |

"It might just be me but I think curvy is size 12-16 am I wrong "
"Curvy" has been misappropriated. It used to mean exactly as the word says; with examples like; Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, Mae West, Donna Douglas, Dolly Parton...
These women were never going to be thin and skinny. They were all strong; and built; but never pudgy or chunky. Marilyn was a UK size 16; dress size does not a valid comparison. If the lady is 6'6" and size 16, she's going to be rather slim for her height. If she's 5' nothing and the same waist, she not going to be so slim...
"Curvy" has been hijacked in an effort to be more "politically correct" and minimise the hurtful effects of negative body image and the likes of fat shaming.
No one should experience any body shaming, be that either end of the scale. But nor should a word that historically meant description of form, be used to sugarcoat something that it isn't. |

And yeh dress size doesn’t really have bugger all to do with how curvy you are! I’m 5” and a dress size 12 therefore curvy looking but someone my dress size but 5”8 would likely be pretty slim! The body catagories should be better! |

That's an idea.
We could have "curvy short arse", "skinny short arse", "Amazonian", and for men, we could have "Hen Broon", "life belt belly", & "Hobbit" |

Curvy is just a subjective descriptive term, not an actual unit of measurement.
You might think your curvy but some people might think you're not.
It's not like in a science exam at school when you are asked to work out the volume of a object and you say "Curvy = pi r^2 h/3".
It's a bit like the word cunt. You might not think you're a cunt, but that doesn't stop other people thinking you are.

As folks have said it's subjective. Why get hung up on a label.
I've had lots of guys mailing claiming to be very well hung .... my opinion differed but that's their perception .Wouldn't give it another thought |

What kind of cunt? Funny, big, cheeky, daft, hairy or a cunt fae Edinburgh. There's too many types of cunts to just say someone's a cunt. |

"I’m just fat. I tell people I have meat on my bones, and I’m more Tess than Kate.
If they have to google who Tess is there’s a fair chance I’m not going to be their type. "
It's not Tessie O'Shea is it? |
