The Bonham was lovely a couple of years ago. I think it's been taken over but could still be worth a look.

It's a nightmare for hotels in Edinburgh.

The city is far too small for the number of visitors it has. Because so much of it is listed, it can't be developed. It's the next Rekjavik.

I second Murrayfield Hotel, rooms are beautiful, shower and baths big enough for 2 and free whiskey and tea cakes!

Somewhere nearby

I stayed at Malmaison just before Christmas. Nice big room, you can get ‘guests’ up to your room without the need for keycards in the lift (though the lifts are directly opposite reception!) and huge beds! Not city centre but only £6/7 from town in an Uber

If you are looking at something about swanky have a look at the Nira Caledonia, it has a hot tub room.

Try the Sheraton it’s got the One Spa which has a fantastic rooftop hydro pool - nothing like being in it when it’s snowing - very surreal

Murrayfield is great especially if you get a room in their house next door. Big rooms with big beds and loads of props xx

Has anyone stayed at the Novotel (central) heard it’s not far from some lap dancing clubs. Does anyone know if they are open on a Wednesday?

It is Thee City, you really cannot go wrong ... However I do have private luxury apartments in town too so let me know if you are looking for more than just a room.
