We haven't give out our number either but if someone asked to chat on the phone I wouldn't have a problem with it.
If it's part of your criteria and they don't want to do that then leave it and move on |

"What do you do when a potential meet refuses to give you a contact number to prove genuine before meeting?"
OP your experienced enough. I don't even know why your asking that question.
If they are worried about giving you their number, then tell them to chat to you from a withheld number, that way they are relaxed about it. If they don't want to phone there and then as they may have company or their children are up etc.... so you then have to arrange a mutual time to chat
But if it's part or your process to chat on phone and they don't want to them it's simple, there's something not right, so just say bye and delete and then any hassle just block. |

Hit the block button, if their not mature or serious enough to exchange numbers then there's no point in wasting you're time |

We didn't want to give out our personal numbers, so we bought a cheap pay as you go fab phone just for this purpose. No unexpected calls while in vanilla company, no risk of someone seeing contacts or pics in messages on the regular phone. The fab phone is on if we're arranging a meet, otherwise it's switched off and tucked away with the other toys. |
