Yes, we have Internet, it's just really shite.

And if you complain to the guy in The Indian call centre you get told:

It is because of the storms.

It is because we are an island.

It is because of the fact that the pole is in a farmers field and they need permission to enter the field.

It is because of the fact that the line is underground and they need the farmers permission to dig it up.

They are waiting for a contractor to dig a hole in the field.

When you point out that in fact, they have already dug the hole, it's not in a field but at the roadside, they start an entirely new line of excuses!

For 3 months of no phone or broadband after a storm a couple of years ago, we had to fight just to get our bill refunded. Compensation wasn't even mentioned.

Internet is still shite. Can't even do online shopping as most pages won't load up

My fibre broadband is a fine 70meg connection here in the Highlands :D

If you are with BT they will get you sorted, you need to follow their procedure's for getting connected to broadband along with timelines and when it doesn't happen you continue with complaints to Ofcom, it works out in the end, even if you are in as remote a location as myself
