"It's the first morning I've had to deice my car. Any tips on what you do?
Especially Annoying is by time i reach end of my road, a thick frost rapidly appears on my windscreen "
Set the "de-ice" and warm up timer to come on 20 mins before you are due to head out (always a nice cosy car if you drive a Merc) |

Scrape it off and before driving away, draw a knob on the neighbors window.
Last year she done it to my works van windscreen late at night with butter, froze on and was a nightmare to get off in the morning |

"alternatively " a bucket of hot water" throw it over
Excellent idea if you want a cracked windscreen
What Bunkie said.
NEVER throw hot water on your frosty windscreen. "
Even I know this! And I’m useless with cars! |

Tried and tested, stuff called (rain x) comes in two bottles 1 for outside windows makes de icing easy and doesn’t make scraping ice a mission and other 1 for inside for anti fogging misting, also if you get a small dehumidifier bag on dash When parking up stops window misting, but bag needs drying out on radiator after few uses, bit anal but it works |

Aircon on, heat on and don't use the recirculate setting
You need to get the damp air out of the car by bringing fresh air in
I know it uses fuel but don't move off until the cars warm and the screens clear or you could get the book thrown at you if the police see you or heaven forbid you hit someone.

It's shocking how many cars you see on the road with a wee square of windscreen clear and rest is covered in frost or snow including back and side windows. .deserve the book thrown at them |

Nearly happen to me last year, mainly because the sun was creating a huge glare on my windscreen, nearly rammed into back of a stationary van, despite me only going 5mph |

By the time you open the garage and the driveway gates , move the car out onto the busy roads where everyone is driving with misty frozen windows, then nip back shut the garage close the driveway gates and get on the road , im already halfway to work and gearing up for stealing the last car parking space. Stick a pool table n bar in the garage and scrape those windows. |
