Apparently Scotland has been officially voted the most beautiful country in the world. I do hope we take the time to appreciate the beauty around us in spite of the busy schedules most of us happen to have... xx |

I watched the 1st stage of the tour of Britain cycling on Sunday which started in Edinburgh and finished in kelso,I was just saying to mates that we don't realise how lucky we are staying in such a nice part of the world.
The scenery was amazing |

I had to drive to Garelochhead, then on to Dunnoon by road and back to Glasgow for my work yesterday.
7.5 hour round trip through some of the most breathtaking natural beauty anywhere despite the monsoon conditions. Lol. And Oban last week and newton Stewart before that. I love this country, and the new job. |

As an Englishman also who will be leaving in a couple of months I can honestly say We have felt very lucky to have lived here and raised a family here!
A remarkable country with remarkable vistas around every corner! From the coastline of fife to the spender of arran from the lowlands of the borders to the peaks of the highlands it's a special place! More importantly though it has the most special people in all of the U.K. Sad to leave |

Scotland is no doubt a beautiful country, but to class it as the most beautiful is a bold statement for Rough Guides to make.
Especially when you put us next to Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Rockies, and then there is the stunning Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Monument Valley, Moab, Grand Tetons, Black Hills on N. Dakota, or indeed head up to Alaska, 50 amazing states of North America.
Then we can start to look at the rest of the stunning views around the World,
Yep Scotland is nice, but the "most beautiful in the World"
I disagree |

It's the best because it's ours, we have all they have but in miniature. |

I guess it all depends on the criteria!
I was watching the '50 places to go to before you die' the other day and I was like... What? Are you kidding me? What about there, and, there and was rolling my eyes during the all programme.
I think Scotland has a 'package', friendly people, culture, history, views, monuments etc...
But that is just me |

Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, South Island New Zealand, Northern Territory and South Coast of New South Wales are all more beautiful than Scotland. Love my wee country, it has some spectacularly beautiful scenery but most beautiful place/country on the planet? Somebody has been on the glue!! |

True, but perhaps not for long if Trump & Kim Jong-un have their way |

Scotland is a beautiful place. As a young London boy, i always wanted to come visit but my parents said "it's always raining and too cold".
Now I'm older, I'm happy that I now live here stunning scenery all year round- in sun or rain.
However, we don't have ancient civilisations sites such as pyramids or machu picchu.... Do we? |

I think Scotland is beautiful, magical and wonderful.
She is the only Scotland I have and she is my home.
After a wonderful trip a far, I always come back to her and she greats me with love and acceptance.
She understands me....and I have a lifetime to understand her.
She is the most beautiful place in the whole world....she is home.
Xxx |

It is spectacular with out a doubt and has a range of different types of sceneries but the most beautiful?
I would have thought even Spain has more variety, higher mountains, beaches, more sunshine!
I shall reflect as I drive across to North West Sutherland today! |

I drove past 3 distilleries and 3 castles, crossed a Firth, followed a Kyle up river and passed some famous bone caves and the odd waterfall.
Already seen the waves breaking on the east and west coasts.
Seen stags, eagles and seals.
All this was before 10am. |

The thing about all these other countries, with their pyramids, fjords & Macchu Pichus', is that they're not on your doorstep, and getting there gives you a rather big carbon footprint.
Plenty to see here, before you need to head overseas. |

I think you will require a carbon footprint to access the views of Scotland also, either that or you have a lot of time on your hands and a lot of blisters on your feet |
