Cougars or dirty old women?

I've noticed over the last few days of threads cropping up about cougars on the 'hunt' for younger men. Why are they so named and not put down or castigated in the way older men are who like younger women?
Terms like 'dirty old man','pervert' or 'cradle snatcher' are often bandied around to describe them.
I myself aren't bothered too much about age, depends on the woman herself regardless, but it just smacks of hypocrisy. |

Same in many ways a guy with many partners is sowing his wild oats a girl doing the same is promiscuous or a slut . Woman wearing trousers , shirts , suits , boxer shorts no problem guy wearing skirts , dresses , panties a weirdo depraved double standards will always be around with folk that wish to use them .  |

On a serious level, the social construct probably derives from modern cultural changes with increasing sexual curiosity/porn.
Everyone is entitled to their own preferences, but there are certainly plenty younger women who actively seek older men.
However, since pedophilia has increased awareness now, if a guy engages with younger women (albeit of consensual legal age), there may still be a whiff of judgemental distrust.
As for cougarism, well, older women play nice so don't cause controversies....
That's my twopence. And i hope I've not offended anyone.  |

Haha I love this thread .. for obvious reasons.
I actually don't class my self as a cougar as I dont hunt,but definately Im always attracted to younger guys but many of my pals do hunt and I seriously fear for some of those young lads lol x
My son actually thinks they are hilarious ... and doesn't get the milf / cougar toyboy thing
My take on it is, it probably seems worse with older guys younger girls as a lot of the relationship dynamics are based on money and power, control and the guys look older for age . Whereas the cougar is usually well kept and the relationship focuses on sex with both parties being in their prime sexual peak ages..
Any thats the psychology I've studied behind it ..
but I know females thst do it gir ego and others like me cause I just dont fancy many guys my age.. Wish I did xx

Hypocrisy exists in every day life and your always gonna get it. Ppl say they never judge others but everyone does to some extent.

Two consenting adults enjoying themselves is the definition of pleasure... there should be no "boxes" to confine that... there are still boundaries we all like to think we won't cross... the best meets are those that push those boundaries in a good way... profound??? Feck yeah!!! |

Good response, but the hunt, as they say, is nothing of the sort.
Most young guys would share a bed with whomever (female) would bat their eyelids at them and to be honest couldn't care less if she had money or power, they just want to get laid. So again it's not a hunt, but comparable to basically picking apples that have fallen from the tree.
But it's the derogatory terms that's the issue. If you witnessed a man of my age, in a bar behaving in the way that some 'cougars' do, what thoughts would spring to mind? |

wtf is it with American tags for everything and wtf is a cougar ...other that a daft we cat that lives in the mountaibs thats not nearly as interesting as a tiger.
