Many a week's wage spent in Sleeves in Falkirk, 23 Precinct Glasgow or Bomba Glasgow.

Just thought I was 16/17 then. Yikes.

Unfortunately Sleeves is long gone in Falkirk. They did have one in Kirkaldy but I'm sure that's gone also.

There was a record fair that used to be held at the oxgangs hotel in Grangemouth one a year it was actually pretty good and the big one that was at the SECC.

I used to love spending time in record shops going through various different styles.

I could spend hours and hours and would only seem like 10minutes.

Nothing beats the sound of the needle hitting the groove

Ripping Records only recently went by the wayside when the owner retired.

Elvis Shakespeares, Edinburgh, good for Edinburgh bands releases.

Vinyl villains, Edinburgh, for alot of re-releases and second hand.

Coda, Edinburgh, for indie, Scottish and new releases

Monorail, Glasgow, for a massive selection of new and old.

Missing, Glasgow, for alot of fucked records and the occasional wee gem

xx

There are 2 open weekends at " the barras" in glasgow, not stalls, actual shops. One is purely old dance/club music, and the other I believe is mostly rock.
