Just curious about blocking and where people stand...
I openly admit I've blocked a few profiles for numerous reasons, but I've also been blocked by a couple of profiles (that I know of) one of which I have never winked, messaged or friend requested but clicked on via the forums (happens regularly as small screen and big fingers don't mix haha)
What denotes a block from you?

I block anyone who has been abusive
I block profiles that have abusive headlines that i dont want to keep seeing
I block folk that wont take a no thanks for an answer and keep mailing

Have only blocked people who wouldn't take 'no' as an answer. I've hidden my profile now as I can message people I chose, rather than who I might not. It works so much better that way.
As for being blocked- haven't come up against any blocked profiles but don't have a problem if I am as it's the other person's choice. |

I usually only block rude offensive people, obvious fakes, people who dont take no for an answer....
And If i notice I'm blocked i block back so they cant remove the block and look at me again. And I'll block a single thats part of a couples profile thats blocked..
I never block someone just _ased on the fact I'd never want to meet them, i just wouldnt ever contact them.... |

You're unlikely to find out why people have blocked you, either. I once found out that someone had blocked me purely on mistaken identity, they totally thought I was someone else. I've been blocked by people I've never met, spoken to or even looked at, but that's their prerogative.
I do think the block is a very useful tool though  |

Alas everyone is different when it comes to blocking. For me, it's when someone has clearly not read my profile and the conversation goes like;
Them - "Hey howz u"
Me - "Not too bad thanks, and you?"
Them - "Horny..."
Alas, I get around 5 of these a day. This is a block for me personally due to what I am looking for etc
I do think everyone is different though and going by some of the comments so far that certainly seems to be correct.

Block people who I have encountered previously on Fab on my single profile who I think are rockets, people who evidently havent read our couples profile and people who make a bloody nuisance of themselves after a couple of messages harrassing us for a meet! |

Depends on my mood. I blocked all women within 5 miles of me cos there is a psycho indiscrete bitch who stalks my profile and locally has tried to out me in real life and facebook. I've never met her.
I blocked a work colleague cos i really didn't want to see her bits and pieces or her mine.

I block abusive messengers; anyone who seems fake; anyone who says they dont meet bi or black; anyone who won't take no for an answer; anyone who has said no thanks to me in the past; anyone who has deleted my message and ignored me. It works for me.

Having a username connection to Old Firm might be an issue in the West of Scotland.
Reduces your market by around 50%
Genuine advice would be to amend it.

Having a username connection to Old Firm might be an issue in the West of Scotland.
Reduces your market by around 50%
Genuine advice would be to amend it.

Block tally is on our profile We block single guys who message us Profile tells them what will happen We also block couples who don’t want to meet us as no point in contacting We also block those who get excited by message ping pong We are here to meet like minded and a few messages a pic swap and a phone call is all that should be required Also considering no messages from non verified Experiences suggest they are a waste of time |

The same guys repeatedly messaging us does get them a block just so we don’t waste each other’s time.
We also block people who are incompatible and we’ll never meet. Smokers, guys with piercings, etc. just _ased on our personal preferences. |

We block people who send winks or messages without a face pic , if we message we always introduce ourselves and add pics showing who we are , our profile does say not to contact us unless we can see who is messaging us , but still get guys messaging saying wanna meet , without a clue what they look like , and don’t even bother to read our profile so we just block ,don’t tell them why , if they can’t read tough tittie |

Your prerogative of course but from my point of view as a man I'd never send a face pic with first message. I'd rather see if the person I'm messaging is going to reply and enter a conversation before I'll start sending pics. The amount of messages single guys on here send there is only a small fraction of them that will be replied to so personally I'm not willing to expose myself so readily. |

If I see a profiles has looked and been active for a year has no pics or veris I’ll block it. If I’ve been messaging them and it’s like getting blood from a stone or drawing teeth I’ll block them. If they don’t fit what I’m looking for I’ll block.
Lots of reasons, none hard and fast and I won’t cry into my big pillow if I get blocked, just accept that something about me: profile doesn’t suit what they’re looking for - or they think I’m a d*ck! |

Many of the reasons above, i prefer men to show respect but if your getting objectified asked about deepthroating and anal on a first message, then clearly a guy thats not seeing women as women(i just woke up to this)
Other ones of guys that see me on dating sites we chat then stop then they message on fab and assume cos jm on here a was lyin n am up for shagging them  |

I tend to block people who feel they're better than my verifications. Not so fussed about them having an incorrect opinion on me (although that'll also result in the block list). But do get really pissed off when people feel the need to slag off my veris x |

Surely if they continue to message you and you really wish they wouldn't but they are exercising there freedom to message you, then if that is what you are inclined to do then you are within your rights to use your freedom to block them. It's not childish, it's not vindictive it's just choice |

Surely if they continue to message you and you really wish they wouldn't but they are exercising there freedom to message you, then if that is what you are inclined to do then you are within your rights to use your freedom to block them. It's not childish, it's not vindictive it's just choice "

I block folk for all sorts. Knowing them personally is a prime one. Bad use of English also. I don't mind spelling mistakes and bad grammar. But if someone writes using a lot of slang then that's a block. |

The Block button is there for whatever reason folk see fit. It may be because someone was offensive, it may be because someone won't stop messaging, it may be simply because someone does not fit what they seek so it saves repeat messaging. It's a tool the site gives us to use as each of sees fit... I use it rarely but when I do it's for good reason |

I block people who send rude first messages.
I block people who respond to “no thanks” with “fuck you then you fat slut” (that happens more than you’d think!)
