I've just got in to non competitive mountain biking. But seems to be more like a way to spend lots of money than a sport

Sometimes think it would have been cheaper to have got in to a hard drug habit lol

"You doing the 5000m?"

If memory serves you used to run competitively?

I unfortunately find it difficult to play any sport I'm not good at .

At my current sport I play for the world champions (no lie) for discretion reasons can't say what sport :/

Now my rugby playing days are over, mainly just keeping fit.

Set a target every year. Has varied over the years. Walked the Great Glen Way, kayaked it as well.

Last few years has been the Beast Race.

Though would love to get back into rugby, think it would have to be Veterans!

Yeah.

I dont think its a great course but the quality of the field sort of makes up for it and pulls everyone round to a good time.

I used to play badminton, football, rugby and box and hit the gym.

A year of injuries and illness means I'm not even fit enough to take moderate walks. Anyone got any advice for coming back from long term injuries?

Had a few, such as knee surgery.

The non weight bearing are best.

Swimming.

If you can't swim, then just walking through the water as deep as possible gives a resistance training.

Cycling, either in gym or outside.

In gym, the rotary cross trainer thing, no impact to jar your injury, wherever it is.

I dont do many 10k's so might not be the best person to ask.

Because Stirling is the national championships it is fast, the course is pretty flat too but some tight turns which slow you down and bits can be quite exposed in the wind if bad weather.
