We were watching the paper boy out the window and were thinking, that's something that is dying out.
*making Photo albums (we are starting to get more photos printed.)
*Public telephones
Hand writing letters (we still do this)
What other things are becoming extinct and you will miss? |

Carrier pigeons dreadful im my day you would always have one on you just incase you had to get intouch with someone quckly. Now its just a text. It was always a back up if you got lost on a dessert island and had nothing to eat for days. Cant eat a text.  |

I was a paperboy and a milk boys. You got a long lie doing the papers compared to the milkids. Hoping on and off a moving milk float when you think about it was crazy but there was no health and safety then. It was also hard going running about with two crates full of glass bottles but it all seemed worth it when you went collecting the money at the end of the week and the tips came in.
On a different note, how was the viking thing nessarosa? |

OMG-ODDESS, we cant stand them.
It takes jobs away from everyone.
It also makes people/ young people lose their communication skills.
People think its faster and more convenient... 8 out of 10 times a assistant has to help someone.
Definitely not our thing.
We like a warm body to check us out. Hee hee

Yup! One of my pet hate!
When am told to use it, I simply reply... 'I'll wait to be served by a human being, thanks!'
To be honest, we have made our beds in a way and we have to lie in it now!
People don't want to wait, want things faster, cheaper!! And that is the result!
I teach my niece and other family kids how to sew, knit, crochet and calligraphy each time I see her! But also how to cut a whole chicken, carve a piece of meat and gut a fish! And so on...
We have become lazy! And it's up to us to keep some basic skills alive by passing them on if we have them!

CDs and books.
I have my kindle and my iPod and with my phone can pretty much listen to any albulm or song without a cd.
However I'm a weirdo who likes to still buy the cd have thousands and same with books I have some I have on kindle and hardback. My kindle is prefect as I travel close to 2 hours daily for work and it's easier than carrying books but love relaxing in a bath with a actually book and the smell and crispness of turning pages on a new one

It's become a throw away society . Business have made labour charges so high folk buy a new product rather than repair old one . Things used to be built to last a while now built to a cheap price . It's been the loss of the local tv repair shop still a few vacuum repair shops left but a lot less than there used to be . |

My niece of eight can count better than her mother so hopefully it's changing sadly her mother works in the banking sector not good at counting loss of bank branches due to technology ? Maybe not |

Children.
They're completely lost to it. I suppose kids TV was the Facebook/ snapchat of my generation to my parents but they've just stopped being kids these days. Console games, internet, MySpace (joke obvs), Facebook, snapchat, reality Tv etc.
Very rarely see them out 'playing'. If there's no wifi the world has ended, what 'are' they to do?! They've lost the ability to socialise and interact properly with flesh n bones people (to be fair so have many adults).
I about shit a chicken last week when my ten year old actually used her imagination and started making shit out of boxes (and by her I obviously mean her mother and I - but it's a start!). |

Was in two shops recently. The assistants could not work out how much 10 off an item at 60p per item or 24 photocopies at 10p per copy.
When I told the girl in the copiers it was £2.40 she asked me how I worked that out.  |

Decent customer service when you make a phone call. It's all pick option 1, 2 or 3 or it's voice recognition or online chat and 10 minutes later you've lost the will to live and just want to speak to a real person that understands your problem.
Yes I'm frustrated!
Log and trying to find the phone number for a local branch of anything. It's all call centres! |

My mum still spends hours writing out Xmas cards then moans she has to do it. I offered to mail merge and pop the Christmas cards and envelopes through our printer.
She became jealous of the printer  so resorts back to pen and ink

I still send birthday cards and Christmas cards. Technology won't stop that for me personally lol. It's just not the same. It's nicer when people put effort into these type of things |

Sooooo true BUT....there is hope.
Lee my husband is changing this part of the world.
Since moving to Scotland he sends Christmas cards, hand written to family and friends.
He is a hopeless romantic, he says that for a few moments I can take the time to write a chistmas card and show some old fashioned love.
We send out about 30 cards every year...and hand deliver the neighbours.
(Amazing what happens every year....we get lots of Christmas cards too. Lmao... its actually so nice)

I used to work in self scan and much preferred that to checkouts. I could move about, chat to my regular customers whilst running back and forth helping others. I had a lot of laughs, met some lovely people and watched babies grow up into toddlers. I do miss it sometimes lol.
The art of communication is slowly disappearing. Go into a restaurant or pub or cafe and every one is on their mobiles. |

People need to learn to talk, start conversations again. The amount of kids that can't look and speak to someone is shocking. I work in a front facing customer service role so see it on a daily basis. |
