Its getting too busy and too popular, lovely smooth roads but traffic increasing with popularity

Live on one part of it and work on another.

There always is an increase in tourists this time of year but NC500 has brought nearly 30000 more.

Makes the single track roads fun.

My hubby did it last year with his workmates. He really enjoyed it, although no playing.

I love long distance trails!

Have done most of them in Scotland and away to do the John Muir one next month

It's a nightmare on the single track parts, there is a lot of traffic! I travel it regularly! My advice would be to do it off season! But even then the roads are crazy busy!

Want to do it but unfortunately holidays mean no cash so getting time off is difficult, especially summer time which is busy for me. Can't imagine it would be quite so much fun in the winter.

Have probably done most of it just through work over the years.

Four or five days good weather and the bike would be awesome though.

As the weather has taken a turn for the worse, we've put it off for a few days. We were going to take the tent, but don't fancy pitting it up in the pouring rain

For those wanting timings advice, check for dates of exercise joint warrior if you want to visit Durness.

Also some disruption is to occur when they close the road to transfer nuclear waste from Dounreay.

Just a wee hint for those thinking of doing this over the summer.

Make sure that you check the dates of the various Highland games, gatherings, galas and shows on the route.
