Yes accommodation can quickly get fully booked as well. Taking a chance on finding somewhere just on the day. Plenty of good camping/campervan spots though. |

I may take you up on that but we would need to meet socially first of course |

Live on one part of it and work on another so feel free to pm for advice.
And if you haven't driven single track roads before, please take care, because keeping me from getting home by driving 20mph is not good for me! |

We are contemplating going in September/October. We like it a bit chilly and the weather lately is wonderful in autumn.
We will see, we would actually like to visit a few of our friends along the way.
Never know where my broom takes us.

"Can recommend clachtoll beach campsite. Ghds in the toilets for the girls and a beautiful beach. Stoer lighthouse nearby and Achmelvich beach. "
Little abodes at clachtoll if you like glamping with a hot tub |

This looked perfect for my upcoming bike tour, but they have a minimum 3 night stay. |

have cycled the nc500 and will be doing it again this year great route but as alot of folk have said hotels charge over the odds better to camp .i think clockwise is better as you get to see the quieter side 1st then suffer the main road down from wick on the last day |

I was planning on doing some touring up North this year but the prices of B&B is just getting ridiculous.
I was getting quoted over £200 for a night's stay in a hotel in Oban. Even the local B&B's were £75 and didn't get a great rating.
I might have to resort to buying a tent!! |

Definitely. The roads are already packed with campervans. Still people just turning up thinking they can get a room without booking. Supply and demand pushing prices up. |
