Is another Scottish club needed?

Is another true swingers club needed? Or are people happy to just find parties at times? Personally find parties too much pressure and you never know if you'll like anyone then end up looking odd sitting at the side
Seems more people doing parties now than going to clubs week in, week out?

John " Id say private parties are more affordable than clubs especially for single guys altho I know a lot of hosts do put restrictions on guys too as well as trying to charge them more than females or couples.
In my opinion if clubs charged one price per person rather than the pricing they to I think more people would attend rather than looking for a private party because its so much cheaper. |

I think that another Scottish Club would be good, a good standard one, with maybe a good membership deal for single guys.
Parties can be good depending on who is organising them But I agree, good to know who is going to attend first.
I don't mind if people think am looking odd sitting on the side. If I don't fancy anyone, I don't fancy anyone and will not play. And sometimes I am just in the mood for taking a back seat and perve what's going on.

I agree with this... a lot of parties are free and the ones that do charge are a price per person (that I know of)
The price difference suggests couples and single females are superior to single guys which isn't my opinion.
The parties I've attended which haven't been that many have mostly been good, but I do feel more pressure to get involved whereas in a club I can walk away. I think more people are going down the party route because of the cost and you can usually see the guest list before attending (I've only attended one without seeing this and it wasn't a good experience)
I think another club is definately wanted from the guys up north as their only option is to travel.

I've just updated our profile to say we won't do the party thing after our conversation on Saturday Karen lol
Like yourselves, we feel there is too much pressure and also find that we don't enjoy the experience so much as too much going on for us. We love the social aspect but with limited time parties just don't work for us hence why we love going to clubs: Less pressure, opportunity to play privately with the social aspect attached

The ladies are always the powerhouse behind any great undertaking lol
Not experienced enough to make any real contribution here but the north does seem lacking,
although tbh the whole going away to visit a club just makes it more of an adventure really

"clubs are to expensive especially for single blokes and its a hit or a miss .
i would never attend a party without knowing who all is going to be there . "
Tbh i don't really think the membership and entrance fees are unreasonable even for single guys. We go to after8 at least once a month. I think the first time for a single guy is £60 then £35 a time after that. Taking into account the BYOB set up for drinks u can easily have a night out for under £50. If you go out in Edinburgh for a 'normal' night out £50 wouldn't get you very far. |

I've never been to a club to nervous and would probably spend 100 quid in Edinburgh calming my nerves on top of the entrance fee,so yes I can see that point |

I enjoy both the club scene and private parties. And any private parties that i have aucessfult organised in the past have always been the same pp cost.
I dont think a bit of variety and more clubs would be a bad thing i think it can only enhance the scene x |

You see I don't see a problem in this ,I know the all why should females couples etc get charged less argument will come up ,my simple answer is this in nairn women outweigh men 3.1 ratio roughly so can be choosy and take the cream of the crop,it the same I think in clubs ,let's face it the majority of single men...not all about 70 percent just want a ride after a night out ,it why they think a club a good idea or why it a good idea to shag anything with a pulse after being on the lash in town,,I did it myself when younger so women do have the upper hand in this situation and especially so in this scene |

I put some serious thought and planning into opening a club in the Angus area after the Aberdeen club shit it's doors.
But after kitting the club out and rent. We would see any money back. Just wouldn't be sustainable.
There will be a club night in a premises in Dundee near the end of summer to gauge interest. If that goes well. We will maybe look at making it a regular thing

Weord reading the amount of replys here highlighting price structure.......most have up till now wholeheartedly agreed with how it is.
I cant help wondering what has brought about this change of heart.
with only a few availible in scotland it dosnt take much to pronounce "one of the best adult clubs in scotland".
More clubs would drive further competition. Which in turn would make any others raise their game. Unfortunatly I dont think the market is there for many more and the mistakes some have made would take alot to fix the image.
dependant on the type of pvt party these can be far worse than a club and probably a far greater danger.

The thing is some men, not all thankfully, think that because they spent 60 quid or more they want / are entitled to action! And that's what the ladies that have paid a fiver or a tenner to get in are faced with once inside when those guys are in.

There is definite need for more clubs in scotland. The absence of the Aberdeen club has had a big impact on us east coasters, and those that travelled down from places like Inverness are now struggling. Many of us at the recent Aberdeen social were all saying the same thing.
At our last party we had people attending from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness areas, so there is enough interest.
For some people travelling to clubs in Glasgow or edinburgh is too difficult and expensive.
Some like myself are not fond of after8, which only leaves cjs. That involves an 80 min drive each way for us so it's not a regular thing. And we miss the sauna and Jacuzzi aspect of the Aberdeen club too.
Now that our circumstances have changed we're trying clubs in england to see what they're like, hence our upcoming bus trip to Blackpool
We would definitely be behind any club opening in the Tayside/Angus area, and would give it all the support we could. |

Why did the Aberdeen club shut down?genuinly didn't even know one existed however if it was due to lack of income it maybe answers the question that the market wasn't there.
I've never paid to go to a private party and not sure I would. Makes it less of a party and more of a buisness interest in my eyes

We really enjoy attending private parties and have held some ourselves in the past. We have never felt under any pressure to play or not. We have played at some parties and not played at others, also have to be honest and say that the one's we attend we have not found cliquish. We have attended clubs but find this less enjoyable, there was a bit of single men hovering and making us feel uncomfortable and a couple of people who were far too d*unk. maybe have been just an off night but it did put us off. we find private parties more relaxed. |

A new club would be great however my main bug about the clubs is that they have rules but don't enforce them very well.
A new club that didn't allow people to get so d*unk they can't stand up & who doesn't allow single guys to couple up with a different random every month to get in the couples room would go a long way |

We would much rather attend a party (only after seeing the guest list) than a club. I agree with an earlier comment that in our experience the club let in very d*unk males who thought it was Insta-shag and that put us off completely. |

Cant understand why anyone would want to get that d*unk that they wouldnt remember every horny detail of what they had experienced the night before....kinda defeats the purpose pf going in the first place.
Chances are that the size of the swinging community in Scotland doesnt merit another club....mores the pity as they do say variety is the spice of life! |

This wasn't put up as a go at certain clubs but more of a curious question, I do believe it could be done differently but everyone is allowed their opinion and as a customer of some I feel I'm entitled to air mine.
Firstly price structure! Guys shouldn't be charged more than females? Clubs need to bring females in yes that's true but offering them a cheap night out is half the problem. They then come along in droves and cause more drama than anything plus most aren't interested in the scene but more there to claim the fresh meat (their words not mine)
Memberships need to be enforced along with rules, half (ok more than half) the guys going to clubs don't have a clue about the swinging scene or etiquette but think that the high entrance cost includes at least a wank and end up being pushy, just a few weeks ago a guy left a club we were at moaning that "F*€k all was happening upstairs" like we should've been putting on a show for him
At the end of the day businesses need to make profit but rather than out pricing everyone, maybe it's time to change strategy? Have more nights? Figure out why people aren't coming? Is cost a main issue to some? Sort the issues out early to rule out the bad apples
As for opening my own club? Ha maybe 15 years ago but I enjoy the easy life nowadays

In response to the private party thing, we've ran a few, and 2 big ones in October and March.
There was a cost as we had to hire a lodge, and we split that between everyone. We also vetted the guests carefully to ensure they'd be a good fit, and only those attending were given the guest list a few days before.
There was a kik group prior to the party which helped people break the ice too, and everyone had a good time.
While it's a lot of work and takes a long time to organise, we enjoy doing them and will host more |

I'd love if there was someone opened another club up this way. But even with the Aberdeen club. It was only 1 Saturday a month as not enough interest to host one every week. The only reason the club ran for so long was it was a gay sauna the rest the time.
This was a big factor in us choosing not to invest a club this way x |

We went to after8 a few weeks ago. There was only a handful of single guys, around 20 couples and quite a few females. Really just pot luck really but i would recommend everyone to try it (clubs) what's the worst that can happen? You don't enjoy it? In that case you don't need to go back. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I think the problem with clubs for some people is they have preconceived ideas about what the club/clubs will be like. We certainly did and they turned out to be way off the mark. After8 in particular is very laid back. No pressure to play. It's basically like a social set up with rooms for playing if you want. Certainly no pressure. In the same night there was a guy who was d*unk but he was swiftly removed. |

There are other ways of increasing profit for any club other than increasing entry. And I think that would be were I would look. Also the single guys should be told the rules at the door and be strict in enforcement. |

Not just guys, everyone. Remember going to xtasia and being impressed with the membership system i.e. Details taken (driving licence or passport) pics taken, rules to be read and signed. Staff were very efficient and doing their job to the max, anyone messing about in the club or breaking the rules would be ejected and membership withdrawn so they'd think twice before pushing the limits and ruining other people's fun.

All attendees need to be reminded of the rules as d*unk females are often the biggest issue and or husbands desperate to play if wife/partner is having their period and they come to socialise and she stays in the social area.

I have only had issues with guys but certainly the club rules should be explained to everyone including the staff on and off the property as there should always be discretion |

The pricing policy at after 8 keeps the numbers of single men down but this doesn't push the quality up... guys who "do well at clubs" should get a discount... I can think of a few guys that should be getting in for 15 quid to after 8.. nothing worse than some hopeless case pestering you who you know will stand no chance with anyone at the club... 10 top quality guys in a club like after 8 would attract more couples and single women. 10 poor ones will just repel them.. as it is After 8 is on a high at the moment with lots of great couples and single women... but once the word gets out the crap guys will start to flock in.. Now would be a good time to inter_iew the guys coming in and go for quality. In the Tinder age its should be about proper swinging now not insta shag. Thats got to be the way to go.... oh and we love after 8, even a crap night is a good night there. |

Thats club policy that decides x amount of this or that gender. nothing to do with the pricing structure. Your proposal of discount for good behaviour is to my mind nuts even worse is the elite status system you seem to be saying should be implemented. |

"The pricing policy at after 8 keeps the numbers of single men down but this doesn't push the quality up... guys who "do well at clubs" should get a discount... " can I ask what you mean by guys who do well in clubs? |

"I've just updated our profile to say we won't do the party thing after our conversation on Saturday Karen lol
Like yourselves, we feel there is too much pressure and also find that we don't enjoy the experience so much as too much going on for us. We love the social aspect but with limited time parties just don't work for us hence why we love going to clubs: Less pressure, opportunity to play privately with the social aspect attached

"Another club in the central belt would be good, not all of us want to travel 30-40 miles each way or hotel it, then there's the not having a drink, driving tonight "
Try an 80 mile drive each way!
There is life north of Glasgow and Edinburgh, that's where something is needed! |

I'd rather go to a club. I've been to a handful of parties and only played at one. At a house party there's no guarantee you'll like anyone enough to play with them and you're all in a more confined space.
At a club I can choose to be in the social areas or the play areas. No pressure to play either.
I enjoy the social side and getting to know people. |

I have often thought about opening a club something more expansive in terms of what facilities are on offer. But having looked at the costings the figures don't really add up. The way to try and make it profitable would be a cash bar more nights and look at what the Aberdeen club did and being a male only sauna when swinger nights weren't on.
But can't see Edinburgh licence board granting or Aberdeen for that matter. Also that comes with a whole host of other problems. Like licence officers having the right to enter the premises during opening hours or the police being able to come and look around when ever they want.
Anyway I digress, I think some prices need to be changed and Scotland could to with 2 or 3 new clubs.
Good luck to anyone opening one |

I approached the Dundee sauna a couple of years ago to do what Aberdeen does but they weren't interested |

I've done clubs and parties.
I'd rather do a party IF people are in the mood and that can vary....
Some parties are red hot, but others dire.
But they are what you make them |

The wife likes the club seen but when people we drinking there should be a limit. To how u can drink it better. If it's a social drink as in two glasses. Of wine or two pints. Some like that but in Aberdeenshire. There should open. A new club. We never been to a party but when we was at Blackpool. It was amazing. The wife and I loved it it was our first time swinging and the best atmosphere. Ever |

"I read here that people think Aberdeen should start up a new club . If they did they would need to move with the times and except every one as an equal as the Club never allowed single males on there own . so i just hope if it ever happens again they look at Cj's and After 8 and learn from these established clubs .
"
They did, just a few. You had to email and ask.
But yes the north east desperately needs a new club and if I had the money I would |

I'd wondered what happened to the club in Aberdeen, has it been closed for long? |

If you are lucky enough to be invited to a party, you can always leave if it's not your bag... |

I was lead to believe the Club never allowed any singlw guys in on there own as when i approached the owners by email to confirm this i was told males where allowed but had to be accompanied by a female but didn't need to know each other. I had a good friend who used to attend on occassions and they never mentioned that single males could email the owners for entry , but i had heard through the grapevine that a selected few where allowed into the Club o there own but i dismissed that as shear and utter bullshit but i gather now after reading what you have posted that it was true after all .
So i would advise new owners if it wvwr happena again to take advice from the other 2 clubs about there single male policy as it seems to work good for them .
A great place for a New Club would be along Queens Road where you have all the big houses with loads off rooms upstairs , middle and even basement food for thought |

Regarding single guys I've always thought that there should be an allowance made for guys who are verified on sites. They shouldn't be penalised as badly as they are.
In the case of city centre clubs there's always a risk of attracting vanilla's ending a night out with a sense of entitlement of getting some action. Should double the price for them! |

Yeah, I think the entire lifestyle needs an overhaul in Scotland, first we need more party groups and more clubs, the clubs are very important if it must work. The party groups can then get the clubs busy on different days |

I agree with this. We've met some amazing and really lovely single guys and it's a shame they get tarred with the same brush as the weirdos lol.
I often thought that single guys should be on referral only. They need to have been verified by a couple who attend. |

There is a few single guys we always invite along to events, even though we aren't interested in them sexually doesn't mean we aren't interested in having them along. Sadly any club just letting any single guys along will have issues, can't expect a guy turning upto a club, paying a lot more than everyone else thinking he's going to a "sex club" for an orgy then nothing happening for him while getting more and more d*unk eventually it's going to cause friction. Single guys (same as anyone as most of the trouble makers I know are single females) should be vetted, it's not just extra money in the till that evening but also spoils the night for the rest when it kicks off and you are left to self police the place.... that's when folk leave and don't go back to a club

Whats being said sounds resonable till you actually look at it referrals and vetting are both as bad as the folk doing it.
it would only create an elitist club do folk really think a buisness cares about anything other than profit cmon they may want a good apperance but money talks.
would a stronger stance on bad behaviour not work better the idiots get caught removed and banned.
theres many problems many of which would need a full overhaul of the way things are done which wont happen as the bills and lifestyle gotta earn. |

I would suggest private clubs that charge different because of gender/sex are leaving themselves open to prosecution.Under the Equality Act's protected characteristics.
The law which says you mustn’t be discriminated against is called the Equality Act 2010. Discrimination which is against the Equality Act is unlawful. This means an individual can take action in the civil courts.
If an individual is treated unfairly by a private members club or association under the protected rights charcteristics e.g. sex/gender it would be unlawful discrimination. |
