Don't let others pick your tattoos it's going to be on you a long time so make sure your 100% happy with it I would say if it's your first one don't go massive and never get a partners name no matter how tempted. Google images is your friend as well just put in what your intrested in followed by tattoos. Never tattoo anything on your body you would. be ashamed to let a parent or child see unless in a private area that won't show at swimming pool |

May I suggest you have a look in a couple of tattoo shops and ask to have a wee look at some of there work ? That way it will give you a good idea of the styles that they do, then once you find an artist who's style you like yous can discuss ideas ? Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations for your area : ( but best of luck and keep us updated if you choose to get one done : ) no pain no gain |

I find it a bit odd folk who want a tattoo........but have no idea what or why just seems a bit ill thought out. |

get on pinterest and look for inspiration. then you can narrow down your ideas. That's how I researched mine, went for a watercolour one to represent the artist in me. never heard of watercolour tattoos until I went in pinterest. hope that helps |

My tattoos are all very personal and profound. I did a lot of research on images and the artists who did them (two are watercolour)... my rule is also to think about the design for a year before I finally do it. They are there forever, or at least that's the intention when getting them done so for me they have to be meaningful, beautiful and fit the part of the body they are on i.e. be aesthetically pleasing. Just my opinion, good luck in choosing something... it's all part of the excitement of it |

I, Mrs, have 6.
Each of them have a meaning behind them, so I'll never regret getting them.
I've wanted to start a sleeve for ages but couldn't decide what I wanted, mainly because it would have just been for the sake of getting it.
I finally decided the other night while queueing to get in to see Maiden, that I'm going to get it started using things to represent everyone I've seen so far in concert.
And I'll just add to it as and when required x |

Before I got the crab nebula tattooed on my shoulder I had the images on my pc desktop background, randomly cycling through different images of different telescope exposures and radio wave images. It meant I could always see it regularly, allowing me to ascertain if it's what I really wanted.
I eventually settled on the current design after compiling a few of the exposures that contained colours I liked.
With a further discussion between me and the tattoo artist we decided on watercolour, due to it being a speciality of hers.
All in I sat on the decision for about eight months.
It's a lot more than just ink in your sub dermal layers, it's a piece of art. |

Tattoos are a personal thing as you are going to have it for the rest of your life - it's not like choosing a pair of socks or something.
Choose something that you want, not what a person recommends. |
