Big Birthday Bash Aberdeen

So after the success of the last two organised socials we want to keep the momentum going, so myself andown Jemima Puddleduck are looking to organise a joint birthday bash for us in Aberdeen in July.

So looking for opinions and ideas, and gauging interest. Considering making this one a ticket only event which will allow us to hire a bigger, more private venue and lay on a small buffet.

Thanks everyone who's posted showing interest. Good to see familiar faces from the last one, looking forward to catching up with you all again and meeting some lovely new people too. Just to answer a few questions I've been getting...the venue hasn't been booked yet, we're just gauging interest but the date will definitely be the 8th of July. If we do choose a theme it won't be compulsory. I know dressing up isn't everyone's cup of tea

Again, it's a social event so there won't be any playing but of course people can make their own plans for afterwards. Other than that, feel free to post any other questions and we shall look forward to seeing you all soon!

Well guys that's the venue booked for July 8th.

As always the venue will be released on the day but it is central/city centre and will be a private function with a DJ.

Just waiting to confirm some details with my gorgeous co-host then I'll let you know the cost of tickets. These can be bought in person, or by PayPal.

Tickets will not be refundable.

Would people like a small buffet laid on?

So good to see some new faces and some Fab friends coming along!!

So ticket price is confirmed at £10 each. This will include entertainment and a small buffet.

Tickets are on sale now, available through PayPal or I can meet people face to face.

Only those with tickets will be told the venue on the day, this isn't a drop in event (although we will sell tickets up until the day of the event).

The theme will be TV and Film stars, come as your favourite actor/actress/character. Dressing up is optional obviously.

This is a NON PLAYING EVENT do please don't expect a gang bang or an orgy.

And there will be some party games and a raffle...what birthday party would be without them!

Hey party people I know there's a couple of posts in the forum at the minute with some negativity towards socials so I wanted to assure everyone coming or considering it of a few things:

*There is no profit in ticket sales for the organisers- the ticket price covers the cost of booking a function room, dJ, some food, and room decorations. Jemima and I have organised socials previously and I can assure you we've normally ended up out of pocket to add some extra touches to the event.

* The venue will be kept secret and only told to those who've purchased tickets on the morning of. This is to ensure discretion.

* Raffles have been done for charity and I can provide documentation of donations.

* There is a theme which is optional. Please do not feel under pressure to dress up, it's just for a bit of fun! The theme is TV and Film which is vague anyway.

* We aren't limiting ticket sales for single males as this is a social. We don't have a reserve list but the room holds 100 people so there are 100 tickets. If we sell all 100 we will have to start a reserve list. This is purely due to room size and not discrimination.

This is the first time either of us have attempted a larger scale social, so please do have some patience. We are doing this for you guys since Aberdeen is much quieter than Central Belt.

Have a look at some of the apartments V, often cheaper than the hotels!

"Hey party people I know there's a couple of posts in the forum at the minute with some negativity towards socials so I wanted to assure everyone coming or considering it of a few things:

* The venue will be kept secret and only told to those who've purchased tickets on the morning of. This is to ensure discretion.

* Raffles have been done for charity and I can provide documentation of donations.

* There is a theme which is optional. Please do not feel under pressure to dress up, it's just for a bit of fun! The theme is TV and Film which is vague anyway.

This is the first time either of us have attempted a larger scale social, so please do have some patience. We are doing this for you guys since Aberdeen is much quieter than Central Belt.

Sorry for the serious post folks.

As always the venue will be released on the day but it is central/city centre and will be a private function with a DJ.

Just waiting to confirm some details with my gorgeous co-host then I'll let you know the cost of tickets. These can be bought in person, or by PayPal.

I know a few people with tickets that would love this idea. Being their first social it's daunting going alone so getting to know people beforehand would definitely help with nerves and anxiety about walking in solo.

We did the whatsapp group for both ladies nights and it totally broke the ice, especially for the ladies who were nervous or didn't know

just thought off something what if some people have blocked people on the site , and they have purchased a ticket and use a different users name for kik and join group it could be open for them to abuse the person that blocked them if you get my drift.

Good idea tho for people to get to know people b4 the even might even pop along

Right party peeps sore throat get serious buy the amount of time wasters is getting ridiculous! Most other socials only sell tickets via PayPal so if we offer to meet you with tickets please don't mess us about or stand us up! We understand life gets in the way but half of these people have no intentions of coming on the night and are just looking for a means to meet Jemima. That's sneaky!!!

I've put up a status so anyone who doesn't show up will have to make their own arrangements. Shit happens and life gets in the way but a quick message is all it takes. To say you're on your way and keep us waiting when you don't have any intention of turning up is just rude. Rant over....breathe...

We usually post the day and times we'll be in town but we can't hang around past those times as we have other things to do. You can pay through PayPal if collecting is a problem though.

Personally I'm juggling a job, 2 kids, 2 dogs and a distance learning course while organising the social

and I know Jemima has just a hectic life herself.

Anyhoooo the tickets are selling fast, much faster than expected with a month still to go.
