Op its a shame you felt uncomfortable at cjs but as you saud there are women into black guys so if having your own parties to host this makes you more comfortable then go for it ...good luck |

Why were you not comfortable??
I have been to Cjs and been the only black girl there! And to socials too!
So what!?
Personally, more to me than my skin colour.
Bit of an issue in Scotland if you have a problem being the 'only black' person somewhere!
May be the scene down South would be more to your liking.
And I don't see the connection with the interracial house party and the way you felt at Cjs.
Good luck though OP |

I'm a bit surprised that Cj's made you feel that way.
To be honest most people who go to cjs' for the first Cpl of times I suspect would be nervous and excited and some people I know have been too shy or quite to chat to others, so maybe you felt this way, not sure but I apologise if it was the colour of your skin that made you feel isolated.
If this is true, which I doubt, then I aint gonna go cause I don't wanna be feeling awkward as the only intelligent guy there

I meant it as no one should feel awkward for the colour of their skin, its not right and I get a feeling he was just nervous or shy.
If someone made a nasty comment to him at cjs or a condescending look, I hope it was reported to Cjs and I hope they would then act on it

Seems my post is being taken out of context.
1. I wasn't comfortable there doesn't mean I am implying the people there are mean. It's just me (maybe because it was my first time, maybe I need to work on confidence and all)
2. I feel maybe if I attend smaller group (say a house party) It would give me confidence for something bigger. Again this is just me.
No need attacking me on this one... not helping.
Thank you all |

Like I said no attack it's a forum to discuss and debate.
And the above comments have prompted you to actually clarify what was in your mind.
May be try attending Social which would help your confidence as they are just drinks amongst like minded people. |

Op its a shame you felt uncomfortable at cjs but as you saud there are women into black guys so if having your own parties to host this makes you more comfortable then go for it ...good luck " the question was partially answered with the op stating "the only black" I guessed at the real reason nothing to do with colour.
The problem is when the op placed colour into the equation which infers is to do with colour. Op its not to get at you why I posted I was highlighting how there can be percieved discrimination when there is none present |

"Yea I am working on that. I am new to Glasgow so not many friends as such but I will reach out to as many on the site. Thanks very much."
Get yourself along to one of the socials.
Its a great way to meet new people and during and after the social, people will contact you if they are interested in taking anything further. |

"Yea. You know any socials here in Glasgow or peharps how I can find one ?"
you will find socials listed on the forums. there is a Dundee one, there is an Aberdeen one this weekend and I'm sure there's a Glasgow one soon. if interested in going just put name on the forum of your interest and the organisers will contact you.
People don't play at the socials, they just meet, chat, drink n have a right good laugh, some go back to hotels and have fun and some just head home. The socials are a good laugh and great way to meet similarly like minded people.
good luck op |
