"Had to have my prostrate removed six weeks ago.now I can't get an erection.any ideas/help
I feel so depressed. "
Your alive buddy, concentrate on family and friends until your self esteem grows stronger.
I had a buddy at work who had this surgery and there are devices that can help if you wish to go down this route,
.
You need to speak to your doctor and he will put you onto clinics within hospital who deal with these specific causes.
.
You said it was only 6 weeks ago, I am surprised you feel up for sex, many still have a catheter fitted after 6 weeks.
.
Remember you are alive, celebrate life, enjoy your family, children, grandchildren, give yourself time to recover and take full advice from hospital when you return for your check ups and blood tests |

6 weeks is not that long ago!
Speak to your GP. Leave a message with your surgeon's secretary for a call back. Don't hesitate to ask for counselling sessions for support.
But also give your body time to heal! Sounds like your mind needs some healing too!
Don't put too much pressure on yourself. You need time to recover.
Good luck and speedy recovery OP.

"Thanks so much for your reply.I knew this would be the place to get advice and help.know follow up from hospital as yet.
But good to be alive. "
Pester them and your GP too if you feel the need! Don't wait for the follow-up letter.
Depression, other feelings, worries and questions you have now have to be tackled sooner rather than later.
So, get on the phone to your GP Angie |

Is there a cancer specialist nurse or urology specialist nurses you've been put in touch with? In our area they hold ED clinics can sometimes be more helpful than waiting weeks/months to see the consultant. Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health x |

Yes go to your GP about your depression don't let them brush you off either. Specialist nurses are quite easy to contact even some advice over the phone might help as to what's normal/abnormal. Hope this helps! X |

Glad you are finding this helpful on here. That is poor you've been left to deal with this alone when there's so much support out there. Maybe try Prostate Cancer UK website for some info? X |

A friend of mine had major surgery, wasn't prostrate but still life changing. He doing his sperm went watery and he couldn't get an errction properly. He was depressed and to "ashamed" to go to a Dr. That in my opinion was wrong, but he researched on the net and now buys a form of viagra online. He says it works a treat. But I would say GP first. |

NEVER BE ASHAMED TO GO TO YOUR GP
Can I be any clearer??
They will have heard it ALL before. Seen it ALL before. They will be able to help even if they have to refer you to a specialist.
But don't be fobbed off. Sometimes you need to pester them. It's not right but it's what you need to do sometimes |

Sorry I strongly disagree!
No, they have not seen it ALL before! And heard it ALL before!
My son almost died because of a GP that was thinking that!
Do not be embarrassed to go to your GP.
Your health is precious! When you don't have it all goes pear-shape!
If you are not satisfied go to another GP.
If still not satisfied go to A&E.
YOU know your body. Pester them till something gets done!
Because at the end of the day, YOUR health is only important to you and the ones that love you!
