Thought I'd post a forum specific to Aberdeen and see if anyone would like to meet up individually or as a group. I've been on here a wee while now and I'm stilll not having much luck so hope someone can come to me instead. Post below if your from nearby and interested or also private message me x

Yeah it does seem to be pretty poor. I'd definitely be up for social or anything else if we could get enough interest. If other people are interested write below and we could sort something out

As Aberdeen's so quiet I think there would be quite a lot of interest in a social.

I'd say there's definitely a big enough scene in Aberdeen. I attended a social in October that had about 25/30 people there, and when it was open the club was usually busy.

I do hear a lot that Aberdeen is a village though, this may be an issue

Yeah you definitely could be right it's such a small place I imagine a lot of people are worried they may know people etc. But if that many people came out before they must just be hiding :O

Why not pick a day, pop up a post and see how many are interested? Might get more than you think. I have a friend in Aberdeen who's not long joined, sure I could persuade her to come along

I would definitely be interested. What about a daytime social? I'm married (I'm honest, so please don't judge!!) and, as a result, find evenings to be almost impossible to meet.

This is shaping up well and I'm happy to do both day or night however most will agree that there isn't really anywhere we can all meet up other than a bar I'd imagine so night is probably better

Any though on location? Halo might be good as Saturday night should get a desent sized booth as never too busy?

I've found that the vast majority of single guys won't turn up. I organised a social a couple of weeks ago. Out of 42 people putting their name down only 26 gave me a contact number, and out of 12 guys only 2 showed up.

Don't book a table for the number of people who've said they'll come as you will get no shows, so for example if 30 say they're coming book for 20/25.

I have a small teddy that I've put on the table before so people know which it is, as well as providing my face pic so they know who to look for.

As for venue it depends whether people want a private function, which obviously has costs and would require the sale of tickets.

Or a private area of somewhere which is what was done last time (and while not a huge space was actually quite nice).

As the organiser of the last one I messaged everyone on the day who'do confirmed with a face pic and description of outfit, but having a teddy or such like somewhere visible is a great idea.

Also sometimes having a theme/dress code can help identify those.

And I'm happy to meet people socially before the day so they'll have a familiar face on the night, any excuse for coffee and cake

I've not been on a social from this site but organised others from another place. We normally just reserved tables and pretended we were on a birthday/work night out. Nobody ever batted an eyelid and folk were none the wiser

As for venue it depends whether people want a private function, which obviously has costs and would require the sale of tickets.

Or a private area of somewhere which is what was done last time (and while not a huge space was actually quite nice).

As the organiser of the last one I messaged everyone on the day who'do confirmed with a face pic and description of outfit, but having a teddy or such like somewhere visible is a great idea.

Also sometimes having a theme/dress code can help identify those.

And I'm happy to meet people socially before the day so they'll have a familiar face on the night, any excuse for coffee and cake

I do love coffee and cake. Think I need a trip in to Aberdeen this week x

You'll never get everyone to agree where to meet. The organiser should collect everyone's details, work out numbers and book somewhere, then text the location to everyone on the day

See I don't think anyone has taken charge of organising anything per say it's just kinda developed as the thread has had quite a bit of interest. Think someone was asking was there anywhere people didn't want to go. So in terms of location nothings really developed since then.

Ok, but I don't think advertising the location on the forum is the way to go. I have never been to any social or party that's done that, it's not how I do it either. But each to their own.

Someone at some point will need to take charge and organise it.

Also...... as expected there seems to be less single females than men showing an interest. I've never been to a group social myself and am meeting up beforehand with a lovely lady from the thread.
