The entire sex trade in Strathclyde is under investigation and has been for a few year now.....

This begins with the girls on the streets right through the girls set up in flats to hard core massage parlours.......

Does not stop at prostitution either...

Anyone who is CHARGING money for sexual pleasures and that includes SWINGING parties are under investigation.......

Would you like to share a link or is this just speculation?

IMO they couldn't do anything under prostitution laws on swinging parties.

If they wanted to and thought that those hosting parties were making money from it (rather than purely covering their expenses) they would get the revenue involved. Harder to hide from the revenue!

if you look at the "law" any person taking money for any type of sexual endeavour could be classed as brothel keeping and they will grab their cash. some of the laws that are quoted are ancient but still on the books

Cash AND (almost any) other assets.

They use Proceeds of Crime legislation and Asset Recovery to seize pretty much everything from jewellery to houses and invite you to prove you aquired it legally.

Harder to do than you might thing.

God I hate this kind of scaremongering!

As you have all said - the key here is money for sexual services.

I dont know of any swinging party or indeed club that takes money for sexual services. The law relates to the person providing the sexual service even in the case of brothel keeping, there has to be a service promised by the person taking the money and provided by someone co-ersed into providing that service by the brothel keeper.

No-one along the chain is paid for providing sex of any kind at any swinging parties Ive been to.

Anyone put off by this thread who was thinking of having a party - please dont worry.

That's almost 100% correct save for the fact there's no obligation for any link in the chain to have been 'coerced'.

Even if everybody involved is 100% acting of their own free will there's still the risk an ambitious CPS chap or Fiscal might run with a charge of keeping a disorderly house, living off immoral earnings or whatever was relevant in a particular jurisdiction.

Would such a charge succeed? Possibly not but that wouldn't have been the intent.

two good points that you say

the 1st is scare mongering that is all the law needs to do to scare folk away from any type of party just look at what happened with Cj's a few weeks back. it might not be founded but it had a result.

2nd money for sexual services the service might not be guaranteed but the implication is there so they will find some law to prosecute under.

now a "private house party " would be different as if they were to stop these they would have to stop any gathering of more than 4 people in any house in Scotland and that would be impossible ( teenagers would be up in arms ) .

all in all it is just the Victorian attitude that some folk in a so called modern world have to others with a different life style

There was an article in the papers about a year ago a that Strathclyde Police were seriously looking into the sex trade.

This was to include ALL aspects....

Licences for lap dance clubs in Glasgow were no longer to be isssued when they expired.....massage parlours were to be closed, the girls were to be driven off the streets etc....

Private parties where you are charged an entry fee.....be it to cover expenses or not are still observed as you paying to enter a party where sex is the theme......These were all being looked into......

And I'm only quoting what I read in I think The Record about a year or so ago........

Off course it still happens.....

It will always happen..The main problem the Police have to look at is the trafficking of Eastern Europeans into this country to work in massage parlours...

Leave the lap dancing clubs and private parties alone....

We are all consenting adults...Poor kids from Poland, serbia, Kosova etc are not...

Thats my point - the police are cracking down on criminal activities, not on people holding swinging parties as was stated - the above kind of scaremongering amongst swingers is really not helpful.

Why cant we all love and encourage each other

Inverness

Regarding this subject googled the issues here and came up with this - The Scottish Policing Stategic Priorities - by the chiefs of police, I think, but one of the strands they are focussing on is

Serious Organised Crime Groups (SOCGs) (including drug trafficking, human trafficking, fraud, intellectual property crime, money laundering, firearms and associated violence)

So that would suggest that it is the whole gambit of human trafficking that they are cracking down on as opposed to just those that end up in the sex industry.

Can't see them being intersted in wee Mavis having a local get together, payment or otherwise that ends up in a shagfest

I may be way of track here but this is the site

www.acpos.police.uk/BusAreas/SSA.html

have fun
