I don't mind the cold as long as it's dry and isn't windy. It's the pouring rain and gales I hate but thankfully we seem to have had less of that lately.

It has been mild! I don't like the cold but at least it gets rid of bugs/viruses!

So, 'ne'er cast a clout...' simply means 'never discard your [warm winter] clothing...'. The 'till May be out' part is where the doubt lies. On the face of it this means 'until the month of May is ended'. ... Using that allusion, 'till May is out' could mean, 'until the hawthorn is out [in bloom]'.

To most it would be the bloom I'm in East Kilbride it's snowed in June once before I'll stick to the month

Sure I seen somewhere that 2016 was the hottest year since records began!

N there's only been a couple of days so far this winter I've had to scrape ice off the motor of a morning,we've not seen any real cold yet this year.

Put another jumper on or work a bit harder.....that'll heat you up!
