It's the lack of sexual interaction with another human that makes me think it's no different than a fancy sex toy. If I caught a partner (been so long since this has been an issue... PM me ladies) using a vibrator I think it might dent my ego a wee bit if I was feeling particularly low but I wouldn't consider it cheating. Maybe you're right maybe it's a guy thing. But I think it's a ton different and probably a ton safer than going to a brothel to have Dec with another human |

Anyway i would say cheat implies dishonesty more than anything else and we could go on for ever with semantics . In this context i would say its more in regards to the act of having sexual contact with a robot rather than all the other variables of cheating .

I think if I had a partner and found out he had done this I probably wouldn't accuse him of cheating. I'd be a bit offended that he felt the need to and may want to address why but I agree that it's no different to using a sex toy.... |

Now you're getting into the realms of objectivity... which is exactly what the debate here is really about. It was my money I wasn't staying with the girl. Bills were being paid. I chose to spend the money this way. It wasn't hers but she was have been judgemental about it. I wasn't stealing food from theoretical children's mouths. She would have hated me spending money on books... and I chose not to tell her.
Some people (clearly) wouldn't be bothered. Some are.
A sex robot doesn't sound like my cup of tea at all - but I don't think it's the same as sleeping with another human being behind your partner's back.

She was my partner and I am sure she would have loved for me to take her out for a fancy meal with the money or have a nice break away. I didn't. And I chose not to tell her what I was spending my money on. That was me hiding something from her. Is that cheating?
Basically the original question was is having add with a robot in a brothel cheating. And I think it isn't. It's a posh wank at best. And, in my opinion, just as dishonest as what I did with the books.
If I was going out behind a partner's back and sleeping with real life prostitutes or other women (or men) then that is different. That is cheating. You've made a conscious decision to engage in a sexual act with someone with human drives and feelings.
And sex, no matter how hard you try to the contrary, can have an emotional investment if it's with another person. |

My opinion for what it's worth if you go to a brothel without the knowledge of your partner and have sex ... its cheating.
If you spend money on books/shoes etc without the knowledge of your partner this is not cheating.

When technology first started to get interesting you need a full helmet lots a cabling linked to a glove. As supercomputers arrived the head sets got smaller - one minute of interactive programming was only a few seconds away from reality the cables disappeared...ideal for teaching surgeons but the porn industry got there first...of course you still needed the interactive glove. I think this can be summed up as this; some folk see it as cheating and others do not.
Personally (like everything in life) this is all down to ones own views. I can see it from both sides but my 2 pence worth is if my partner did this then id be hurt cause I'm clearly not doing something right in the bedroom to make her happy, and she should tell me how I can do that. Like i said different horse's for different course |

Bit of a grey area I think as people have different views.
Got me thinking about that Humans BBC series when the husband installs the sex function in the synth,fucked her n then felt guilty afterwards.
I can see that becoming a reality in the next couple of hundred years if not before.
There will be a whole market for software programs that bypass the parental block that the wife activates on the shagging function of the sexy maid robots/cyborgs/synths.
