New year loneliness

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

Just like Christmas new year can be a very lonely time for many who are not fortunate to be surrounded by family or may even well be estranged from thier familys .

Its a time to draw your family closer and tighten the bond .

Hopefully they might be forgunate enough to be invited into neighbours,or a wee party or maybe even get to attend a wee swinging club with friends.

But whatever they are dping give a wee thought to to those who are lonely as 2017 approaches.

First time I've been alone on New Year in my whole life. It was hard but just have to get on with it.

As in life it is what you make it and we all have hard times and good times, always remember your good times and banish the bad - best way.

I hope everyone who are alone feel the same way and start afresh and enjoy their time from now on

Sadly I was one of them people for Xmas n new year not even as much as a Christmas card, but hey that's life I guess. I must admit this year for some reason was really hard but as I say that's life. Onwards and upwards.

My thoughts on this time of year are simply don't expect anything then you can't be disappointed when exactly that happens. I'm not really into pubs etc guess I'm just a sad giffer but there is a silver lining and that is simply I wake every morning and thank the good lord I don't go hungry and I have a roof over my head and not sleeping rough every night so it pales to nothing really.

On the other foot you dont have to be alone to feel lonely..... you can get that feeling in a room full of friends and family.

I do find Xmas and new year as a sign of who are your real friends. I find many people just stop keeping contact.

As someone who has moved around a lot, I've made and lost many "friends", so i feel your pain.

It's my first year living in Scotland, so let's hope fabbers and the friendly Scottish folk will welcome me and share a cuppa, or glass of red

Don't wait until Christmas and New year to pull your family close , should we not being do that all year round ? after all we might not get the chance to do so if we wait

Agreed, am gutted to have to wait till Easter time to go home back to France to see my mum and dad, not seen them since last June when my mum was unwell.

So, if you are close, don't wait xx

And I am on the belief that sometimes it is better to be alone than in bad company.

Big hugs to everyone.

Mrs R...((((((HUGS))))) for you. I like the fact you don't dwell on it...Life is for living so take each day as it comes and embrace it best you can...there are always others less fortunate...xx
