The castle and malt whisky trail runs through Aberdeenshire, Moray and Speyside if you are into castles and/or whisky. Amazing scenery. We speak Doric in Aberdeenshire even the rest of Scotland can't understand us haha |

Thanks - some helpful posts. I was trying to speak in the local dialect. I apologise if it was unintelligible.
I thought up to Edinburgh, up to Thurso and Wick via Inverness across to Durness and Cape Wrath and down the west coast via Ullapool then Fort William and back down south. |

Awww bless yer wee English socks Steve, there's no such thing as a single Scots dialect. Just come and be welcome, be yourself and ffs DON'T try and "speak Scottish". Enjoy the scenery, the food, the history, the people, the weather... ok maybe NOT the weather but just relax and have fun. |

Enjoy your visit.

Midges are a curse, it's true, so either come early June or stay away from wild countryside and avoid Kinlochleven.
I'd stick my neck out and say make the very north a quick trip, or at lead, aim for a target for a couple of days, visit Skye, Mull and Iona,Kilmartin to get a taste of history, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness for cities. You'll not be short of places to go. |

Via the Kyle of Localsh through Skye to Lewis and stop off here for a day or two. Then to Thurso. |
