We're lucky our two are still young. We do them both a Christmas eve box. New pyjamas, a DVD, few treats and an early Christmas present. Mrs is at work this year , but she will be in for the evening at least. |

24th/25th are the main dates in France as we don't have a Boxing day.
So Christmas Eve, I cook something light but special.
At midnight, I put my miniature baby Jesus in the nativity set
Sort of a tradition, Christmas day till New Year's Day, I cook and bake more complex stuff that I don't have the time to do/try during the year.
Also, I always have an extra plate with cutlery ready to welcome any unexpected visitor.

Tradition is I usually hide away in the kitchen for a couple of hours and do the cooking and leave the others to get on with the festive carousing
Happy if I've got a glass or two of a nice red and some and decent music to listen to |

A world of my own |
Its not a tradition I like but seems to be the norm. Once the boys are all asleep on Xmas eve, I do hours of wrapping their gifts whilst crying about being lonely! I then write each of them a letter from santa and make Santa footprints from talc. usually end up going to bed exhausted about 4am |
